Control global sound object using soundManagerCan I control Flash sound objects on a web page that are not created using soundManager?
For example, can I mute or change the volume of a youtube movie embedded in the page using the embed code?
Can I control soundmanager sound objects across several browser window?
p.s. I think that the muteAll method is not documented.
thanks

I've used destroy() with a previous post of yours with a crossfading example.
It works well and I can see the memory usage after 24Hrs is fine.
Now I'm facing a new issue. Sometimes when I start playing a stream it stops every couple of seconds and start playing again. I'm not sure but I don't think it's the shoutcast station fault. When I reload my app it seem to fix it sometimes.

I've tried this: http://yahoomediaplayer.wikia.com/wik...
and it works.
Will the flash player leak memory because it will download an endless mp3 file?
Is there a way to show the META data?
Thanks

Playing shoutcast mp3 streamsWhen answering a question you said that soundmanger2 can play shoutcast mp3 streams:
http://getsatisfaction.com/schillmani...
Can you please explain how to do that?
Do I need to include the mp3 files or the playlist files?
Thanks

hi,
Thank you for the detailed explanation.
I work with two web servers so the working offline part is irrelevant to my problem.
Could it be a AS2 vs AS3 issues or new security restrictions in Flash?
I've read somewhere that Adobe don't want to let Flash do the hard work for javascript in the background any more.
I'll write a simple test with debug turned on and post it here or provide a link.

allowDomain doesn't solve cross domain issuesI have tried your instruction about allowDomain but it is not working for me.
I've added allowDomain("*") and compiled the AS3 version with flash develop using flex3 sdk. The AS2 won't compile. I have an html page from domain A loading js from domain A and soundmanager swf from domain B and I'm trying to play mp3 files from domain B.
How can I test if the problem is communicating between js and swf or loading the mp3 files?
Thanks

soundmanager2 and crossdomainWhen all the files are on the same domain it works great but I'm trying to do something more complicated:
I have an html page on domain A that loads all the resources from domain B including the soundmanager2.js, soundmanager2.swf and test.mp3 file.
I can see that soundmanager2.swf loads but it doesn't play the test.mp3 file and I don't see it's being loaded.
Is there some cross-domain issue? Can't the javascript file talk to the swf file if they are from two different domains?
Thanks
