I took Lee advice of clearing the history and then tried uploading.

That worked some what took from 8:45 till 10:05 to change.

Then I tried clearing the history closing out of internet

re-starting the computer go back to internet clear history again go to yola and load update file and update site and then has been going right threw.

any other way it just get lost in space or some where

Of course maybe Sanja magic work and the uploading is because of her great work.

I went threw and update the .js menu and close everything and restarted. upload file when to site and changes were right there.

Thanks Lee I believe your ideal work magic also. And thank you Sanja for working your magic.

It's so nice to have a forum with such great people that are willing to help or even make a suggestion. Very refreshing to see the sharing done here

at 8:45 central time I tried uploading a new "resources/drop_down/change here.js" with a change of mouse over from red fonts to white font.
1st when deleted old file
2nd uploaded the new file
3rd updated site
4th check site no changes
5th cleared history
6th update site again
7th check site in both ie8 & firefox latest one still no changes
check file in file manger is new one with white font
updated site again
check ie8 and firefox
did a page source and check .js address back to site
still shows old one.
9:05 central time check site still no update on ie8 or firefox

The only change was mouse over red font change to white still red font

Your right nothing takes that wrong with Yola and I do believe it's on my end and I can't place my finger on it.
This is the code that I'm putting on my site.

When you click on the resources/drop_down/change here.js or resources/drop_down/leave alone.js in source code you can go right back to the file.

The problem occurs when you update the file in the file manger. When you update the change here file and upload it go right into the file manger.

Then the waiting starts. The new file shows in the file manger but the source code from site does not change and the old file remains. I have tried over writing it, and also deleting the old file totally and then adding the new file.

The only change that i made to the file ways the background color. the mouse over font color, added one more font character (Palatino Linotype) and the menu pages. Before I go to far I just change a little at a time till I can learn more of js. Think I understand enough to change those items. Have not change any coding. Just the above items

It's got to be something in the way I'm changing something somewhere. I tried clearing the history and cookies on both computers that I use.

I'm sure it's something really simple or something that I have neglected to do.

Loading javascript. Is there something different that I haven't learn yet?

Now I can load HTML , save and update site and see results in a short time on the site. I can make changes in HTML and update and see those changes in a short time.

I can do the same with images, update and see results on site in a short time.

I can enter java script threw HTML like and see results in a short time

Now the Problem

I trying to set up javascript for menus for my site. and have got them to work. I thought it would be a real time saver to learn this and save time. I can load the original files threw into the file manger and they work. Now I update those file and upload them using the same name as original file. I answer the question in the file manger ask ok to replace and check threw the download in file manger and verified that the new file is in place. (yes same name)

Now I save my work and update site and problem starts. Instead of a short time to see change I have waited and still waiting for Yola Magic and update my site. After all the changes are small and should take any longer that a HTML or Image to appear RIGHT! No such luck the changes take any where from 15 minutes to over 4 hours and still waiting.

No matter how many time I try and update and verified that things that I did the file correction, uploading and updating, I still waiting.

This last time four hours plus.The new file is in the file manger with the name of old (deleted, replaced) file. The download says it's there. Updated successful???

NO according to the site threw a page source and checking back to the .js address it's still the old file, even though the new file has been verified in the file manger.

Using file fox

Checking site in firefox and ie8. both agree it's the old file.

I'm the first to say that I make mistakes but I've been over and over every section of code, comma, period, dots and dashes and still can not replace one javascript file with new javascript file with same name.

any help and suggestion would be helpful. Got business to take care of so may not be back for 12 hours.

I've look at w3schools and will look at again. I went threw Christo link from above and look around and ended up here with a video about menu and some explanation also http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/menu/ I'll surely check out your Google suggestion also. Thought this would all be simpler with the above code and the script link. Surprise!

I added a clock that seem fitting.

As far as a visitor count. Maybe not a bad idea.

Feedback: at the bottom of page in the square box is a contact us link.
I'll have to give some thaught to the feed back thing.

just under "update mt Site" is the save button, next to the save button on left is refresh page. Click that and page will reload. Always save your work before hitting the update button.

This should reload page then you can Update My site and should load.

If you added a lot of images and/or article this may also down the updating process

Follow Amazon instruction & you'll be ok.
The e-store will be code right in your site and the links back to Amazon is included in the code you put in Yola site.
