I start to use Slife to track my work time. But it doesnt recognize my woork application (Komodo Edit).
I've added it in settings, mut Slife dont understand it and "takes" another Komodo from dock, so I have 2 Komodo's in list, and only one are tracking by Slife.
So, Slife even cant understand Komodo Icon, like that:
But Komodo have its own icon:
Please, fix this )

We are looking into the possibility of actually separating the Slife observer from the visualizer. That way, the observer would be always running in the background (small footprint) and you would be able to bring up the visualizer whenever you want to actually look at the data.
I wish I could tell you that this would be done very soon, but we are still a little ways from a release that addresses this issue.

Agreed. We need to see if we can support this behavior without making the app work like a background app. – ethomaz, on September 08, 2008 03:26

In the meantime, you can use Dock Dodger ( http://foggynoggin.com/dockdodger ) to hide slife from the dock... and if you use LightSwitch for apple+tabbing—that lets you hide apps as well.

I agree with most of the points made here. In particular, the time related controls should be up with the timeline as the original poster mentioned. See screenshot

Jerry reported a problem in Slife Labs on July 07, 2008 19:42:
Slife interface very slow after 4 days of trackingI've been tracking my apps with Slife 2.0 for 4 days now and the app is becoming unusably slow. Especially the Day view is reeeeally laggy (like a slideshow), scrolling down is tedious so I try to avoid that screen in general.
Switching between Day, Month and Applications is anything but snappy, with again Day being the slowest, taking over a second to load.
Running on a Penryn Macbook Pro with 4gigs of RAM, so system performance shouldn't be an issue. Interestingly, the list has 29 apps after I removed a lot of apps I never asked Slife to track but it decided to track nonetheless (but that's another issue for another ticket).
System is Leopard 10.5.4. Please let me know if you need any more system info.

We are working on an update to Slife 2.0 that will address some of these issues.
The idea of Slife showing the preferences in its own window was motivated by the idea that in the future Slife could run in the background and have everything in window could be nice in that scenario.
But if people don't like it, we change it!

We are working on a way to change the icons and it will be included in one of the upcoming releases... Sometimes Slife can't obtain the right icon for a number of reasons, unfortunately.
