Who's been reconnected?! Not me. There were two people yesterday who indicated they were back up and running...not sure how this is possible as no one else reported being able to get back in yet. What a drag.

OK, I think I'm pretty much done. I have been patient now for six days. I think we have been screwed -- I think if you haven't been restored by now, your profile/account cannot be recovered. IMHO.

Sounds like maybe some accounts are slowly being restored. Congrats to those of you who can now access...I am still in majority, however. I continue to wait patiently and take this as a positive sign!!

Right -- so according to the approximate time FB acknowledged this, we should be back up and running around 6:30 p.m. EDT on 10/7/09. Or at least that's the time the CNET story on this broke. But .... I won't hold my breath. – Patricia, on October 07, 2009 14:21

I have about 125 friends and rarely post or comment things; I do play Mafia Wars like a fanatic, however. That said, I haven't even reached that high a playing level. I have a small mafia to boot. I have to think this maintenance thing is completely random...such a relief everyone else here is experiencing the same thing. Thanks for asking about usage. – Patricia, on October 06, 2009 13:48

After nearly 72 hours, I went ahead and created a new account, but I hope I don't have to use it -- I cannot remember who all my friends are as I've built the list over a year. LOL I really don't want to have to start Mafia Wars from scratch as it's taken me months to build my empire and bank account. But seriously, this is going on 72 hours and not one of my friends or family members is affected. I wonder if it's ever coming back. All I want to do is post some pictures from a weekend trip that included many of my friends on FB...and to see theirs...and just to be reconnected!! – Patricia, on October 06, 2009 10:00

Joe, who knew a backup plan might be needed? Crazy! I've been on FB for well over a year and never experienced something like this...nor have any of my FB friends (and I have hundreds) so not sure how long the wait will be. I have also cleared my cache, cookies, temp files, etc. as FB suggests if more than 24 hours has passed. It is of no help -- still "site maintenance/unavailable" ... – Patricia, on October 05, 2009 19:16

I have been unable to log in for over 24 hours. If it actually takes this long for FB to perform site maintenance, then they should tell you to check back "in a few days", not "in a few hours". I sent FB a message, finally, as if you attempt to send a message via the Help page, you have to be logged in. I cannot log in, duh! I received a response to the message I sent but it appeared to be an auto-generated response. Very Frustrating as I haven't actually logged in now in four days due to travel. I got home yesterday and haven't been able to log in at all since my return.
