Patrick replied on November 04, 2009 00:29 to the question "More Graphs! (or at least bigger ones!)" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Bree,
you can turn off the other sources at the filtr level and then run the source trending graph just for that filtr with the social mentions turned on. This should get you what you want. If it doesn't feel free to email me at patrick@filtrbox.com and I can help you get what you want out of the system.

Patrick
Patrick replied on November 03, 2009 05:20 to the question "Would like to set up RSS feeds, but not sure where to start?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Amy,
I am not sure exactly what you mean when you say you need to setup RSS feeds. You can use RSS both to supply information into the system and you can use it to pull the data we find out of the system. Let me know what you are trying to accomplish and I can help you configure your account. Also please feel free to email me directly a patrick@filtrbox.com.

Patrick replied on July 16, 2009 14:43 to the question "Good vs Bad... Product vs. Brand Grouping" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Alyssa,
You can use our FiltrRank algorithm to limit the articles you see based on their importance (all articles in the system are ranked from 1-10 ten being the highest score and therefore the most valuable articles). This will help you find the most relevant content based on credibility and reach of the source as well as contextual relevance of your search but it does not give you an automated way to gauge tone (positive negative or neutral) with in a post. We will be giving you the ability to mark tone yourself shortly.
As for separating product versus brand mentions the best way to do that at this point is by setting up separate searches for specific products and mentions of the brand. If they are setup as separate filtrs you will then be able to compare the two result sets.

Patrick

Patrick replied on May 22, 2009 16:47 to the question "How do I upgrade to get more Filtrs?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Mcindc,
The upgrade functionality was recently removed form the dashboard when we changed our pricing model May 1st. The G2 service pricing is now based on the number of users on the system. I would be happy to provide you additional information and a quote. Please email me at patrick@filtrbox.com.

Patrick replied on May 21, 2009 16:08 to the question "Where do I start?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your interest in Filtrbox. When you log into the Filtrbox Dashboard you land at the articles tab. From there you should create a folder to store your results for Thumbplay and then click into that folder and click on add a filtr.
In the filtr manager you should then add thumbplay as your primary term in the "Find articles about" box.
Hit search and you will see sample articles and also get a tag cloud of related terms to help further qualify your filtr.
Once you like the sample articles hit save and we will start monitoring our sources for relevant results.
On a side note if you are interested in learning more you can sign up for one of our webinars here: http://filtrbox.readytalk.com/?p=ev

Patrick replied on May 13, 2009 15:47 to the question "How many sites does Filtrbox mine? What is included in the dashboard?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Tifany,
At Filtrbox we monitor literally millions of sites through partnerships with major data providers that index the internet. A specific number is very difficult to nail down due to overlap between say Yahoo and Google for example. As the system removes duplicates the overlap does not bring additional noise to the system it only increases our coverage.
The dashboard provides real time access to your relevant content and also allows you to share articles, run reports, export data and customize your source coverage.
I would be happy to provide a demo should you be interested in learning more. To set something up please email me at patrick@filtrbox.com.

Patrick
Patrick replied on April 06, 2009 22:35 to the problem "FILTRs are not saved" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Christine,
Thank you for reaching out with your issue. This sounds like a you may have an issue with your version of Flash. Filtrbox requires Flash 9 to work properly. If you are seeing a blank screen when you try to log in, this is probably why.
You can verify your version of Adobe Flash by right-clicking on the blank screen and selecting "About Adobe Flash Player" or directly on this page: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/a...
If you need to upgrade to Flash 9, follow this link:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Please feel free to contact me directly at patrick@filtrbox.com if this doesn't resolve the issue and we can troubleshoot it further.
Best,
Patrick

Hi Billing,
Thanks for sending this issue to support@filtrbox.com as we were able to resolve it quickly through an email exchange. The pop up window when authenticated does give you the ability to cancel your account and is now working as intended.

Patrick replied on March 30, 2009 22:31 to the question "delete multiple articles" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi,
Multiple article delete is not yet supported in the UI but is on our road map. If you are getting too many results that are irrelevant you may want to further restrict your filtr or block some domains.
I'd be happy to help you dial in the filtr. If you are interested in assistance email me at patrick@filtrbox.com.

Patrick
Patrick replied on March 17, 2009 20:44 to the question "Can you require capitals to enable acronyms?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Olly,
Thanks for the question. Our approach here has been to follow standard search paradigms used by other search engines so not to confuse our users. Google for example is not case sensitive in their search.
The best way to limit the results to what you are looking for is to use the tag cloud to include other related terms in your search. If you would like help honing this search in please feel free to email me at patrick@filtrbox.com.
Best,
Patrick
Patrick replied on March 05, 2009 16:27 to the question "How do I import an OPML file?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Grace,
We are currently reworking our OPML support but would be happy to run your OPML file through the current parser manually and associate the sources with your account. Could you send a copy of your OPML to patrick@filtrbox.com from your account email address? Then we will associate the sources with your account.
Best,
Patrick

Patrick replied on January 23, 2009 19:44 to the problem "Almost every find leads to a "cannot find webpage"" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Alana,
I am not sure that I understand the issues you are seeing. Are you logged into the dashboard and trying to read articles? If this is the case it sounds like you are having connectivity issues as all the article links go to the actual source of the article. It may make more sense to troubleshoot this real time. Can you email patrick@filtrbox.com with your contact info?

Patrick
Patrick replied on January 08, 2009 23:01 to the problem "Email reports haven't come through the last few days" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Pat,
Thanks for reaching out. There are generally three reasons why you would not get an email. The first is if there is no new content for your searches, in this case we don't send anything (sounds like you have ruled this out).
The second would be if you have set your daily briefing FiltrRank higher than the articles we are finding. For example if all the articles we find are 3s and you have your daily briefing threshold set to 5 we will see no qualifying articles and we won't send the briefing.
Lastly your daily briefing could be getting stuck in a spam filter. If you add us (noreply@filtrbox.com) to your whitelist and address book we should be able to get through.
If you could send your filtrbox ID to patrick@filtrbox.com I can see if we received a bounce when sending your briefing.
Regards,
Patrick
Patrick replied on January 06, 2009 16:46 to the question "Limit daily emails to mainstream content ?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Slyck,
Limiting your daily briefing results to just mainstream content is not currently a capability of the system. It is a feature request that is currently on our road map along with the ability to set different FiltrRank thresholds for each individual filtr. We don't yet have a target release date but our intent is to release it this quarter.
Best,
Patrick
Patrick replied on January 05, 2009 18:09 to the question "firefox 3.0.5, flash WIN 10.0.12.36 - only a small black box on page" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi CJ,
You are using a supported configuration. Can you help me with some additional detail on how you got to the small black box and a screen shot? If you could send your approximate click stream (went to www, clicked on sign up etc) and a screen shot to patrick@filtrbox.com I be happy to help you sort it out.
Best,
Patrick
Patrick replied on December 18, 2008 23:25 to the question "Does Filtrbox pull data from sites without RSS?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Hi Tarla,
Good question. If the site is indexed by one our indexing services or by us we will find new content from that site. If the site is not indexed you could use a service like Page2RSS (http://page2rss.com/) and create a custom RSS feed for that site and then upload that feed to content sources in the dashboard (Account tab, manage content sources sub tab, click in add RSS feed).
Once the new feed is one of your content sources we will include any new content for consideration across your filtrs.
Patrick replied on December 04, 2008 23:26 to the question "Can I include a blog URL in a filtr definition?" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Tearles,
I can certainly understand your use case but at this point we do not support keyword matching in the URL. Your best bet would be to add additional keywords that would most likely be present in their post to that filtr or a separate filtr.
On a side note I have added this feature to our product road map for further discussion.
