I Love Spock replied on January 23, 2008 00:11 to the problem "How do I delete an email address that is no longer valid?" in Spock:
First try searching by the address that you can't seem to merge. It's possible that there may be a search result for that e-mail already on Spock. If you are trying to add that same e-mail address again, it maybe that the search results haven't been merged yet due to indexing. If that doesn't work please e-mail me - patrick@corp.spock.com with your addresses and search result
I Love Spock replied on January 23, 2008 00:06 to the question "How can I see the names of my Direct Trusts? In my Spock page I have the "size" of my Trust Network, but I haven't found a way to see a list of names." in Spock:
Dave,
I think you may be confusing your Trust Network with your Search Network.
If you removed someone from your Trust Network that means that you no longer share contact information and can not send messages to each other. What is most likely the case is that XX is still connected to your Search Network through someone else. You should be able to see how that person is still connected to you by looking at your entire Search Network. If you'd like to fully remove them from your Search Network then you must remove that contact as well.
Search Network is good because at Spock we assume that you know most of the details about the people whom you've Trusted, but may not know the full details of their extended Network.
As far as getsatisfaction is concerned, we feel that it actually increases our ability to effectively solve problems by easily directing people towards recurring problems.
If you are indeed having a technical issue where you are unable to remove XX from your Trust Network, than please contact me, patrick@corp.spock.com and I'll look further into the matter.

I Love Spock replied on January 11, 2008 20:40 to the problem "I hate data harvesting, and I refuse to use your service." in Spock:
Damn, was hoping you wouldn't notice. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, or in the wise words of Ron Burgundy "When in Rome". I personally think finding yourself on the web is inevitable and that Spock is a cool service that you can use for both fun and professional purposes. That said you don't have to be on Spock to enjoy it, but if you want to get the most out of the site it helps to sign up.
I Love Spock replied on January 11, 2008 02:17 to the problem "I hate data harvesting, and I refuse to use your service." in Spock:
Because you have the ability to list as much or as little information as you like, and the fact that Spock sends you a notification if anything has been changed, there is actually very little maintenance necessary. While there is certainly information that most people would prefer to maintain private, I don't really see the harm of posting where you went to school, your hometown, your dogs name, etc. Recruiters use our site all the time to fill vacancies.
I Love Spock replied on January 11, 2008 01:52 to the problem "I hate data harvesting, and I refuse to use your service." in Spock:
Spock understands if you are uncomfortable with your information being on the Web. Please see our About Page which gives you steps on how to maintain and check where you are on the Web. Unfortunately to fully remove yourself from everything this includes a lot of paperwork and time.
Our suggestion is to use Spock as a launching pad for all the areas you're on the web. With Spock you can control the information that's presented about you by using the voting triangles to vote down erroneous information.

If you see some search results of famous people that do not have news feeds, please email Chris (chris@corp.spock.com) and he'll take care of that for you. The richer the search results, the better the experience for our users.
