its a new google lab program. it is touted as being the 'email killer' or otherwise just replacing email.

it is currently in preview but will beta soon i would expect. you are much more likely to get an invite if you are nominated because people who are nominated jump que infront of the people who have signed up for an invite on the website.

to anyone who has asked, i have nominated you for an invitation, you just need to wait for the next round of invites from google (should be less then a few days)
