Some scheduled tweets improvementsScheduled tweets improvements:
Keep scheduler open until manually closed.
Scheduler should remember last-used time; Resetting 4 multiple tweets gets very old.
HS is not remembering the active account between tweets either.
I'm in Chrome, on Win XP.

Mark, I had the same objections at first. But really, any shortening service is a virtual frame when you think about it. They have the ability to track usage if they care to. Also note that the HootBar and frame can be permanently disabled for each machine with a couple of clicks.
I'm ok with the frame now, except that I strongly think that seeing the original url is absolutely vital.
About the tweet ad: I agree wholeheartedly, and it was a major put-off from HS for me. Contrary to what has been written here, I could not "upgrade" without sending the tweet. Between this and the frame, my initial reaction to HS was not favorable.
I've come to admire the applet, though I have definite improvements I would like to see, small things that would make a major difference.

Auto-scrolling should freeze when scroll shuttle is not in uppermost positionVery often I'll follow a link out of HS. When I'm done I come back, to find that I've lost the original tweet somewhere in the stack. This could be solved by freezing the stack when the shuttle is not at the topmost position, so the user could manually continue looking through tweets.

Ok, got a shot of the problem. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y147...
The repopulation occurred when I switched to Stats. It remained when I when back to Home. You can see the original tweet in the first column, three down. This shot was taken at 2:30, 2.5 hrs and 2 tweets after the original tweet that was duplicated.

Incorporate URL shortener function into Tweet boxSave some screen space.

Converting other shortened URLsI see that when I "Owlize" a URL shortened by another service, ow.ly uses the previously shortened url as its base.
If instead it would trace the redirect back to the source, in Stats we would have a record of the original URL.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the info on the 301. While interesting, it is not, IME, a satisfactory solution to a permanent change of location. One wants his readers to know and identify with the new address, and that is where this fails.
IME, site relocation is an absolutely fundamental feature of any notification service. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for getting back. On boot up this morning, it was like it wasn't installed. No error, but no tooltip. It happened on every shortened link I could find, including Twitter.
Then in the afternoon, with no changes, it started working, it seemed consistently.
I then shut down to go out and exercise and eat. Just now, testing again, on Twitter on the following url: http://tinyurl.com/lhcrz3 , it did not work again.
Basically, something seems intermittently wrong.

longurl mobile expander stopped workingFirefox 3.0.10 addon. Worked great for one day.
paul1149 replied on March 21, 2009 01:18 to the problem "email this to 'address' - results in Bad Request from Gmail..." in Mozilla:
Same problem here. Evidently selected text is passed to the body of the new email as part of a URL, and gmail has size limits that are being transgressed. Some other way needs to be found to pass the info. This has been a common problem here with Firefox email addons, including 'email this!', while Opera, whose email client is internal, knows no such limitations (the only prob with Opera is that it doesn't send formatted mail).
Another problem I have with the current Ubiquity: I don't know how to invoke the mail to: command, which would fire the system email app (TBird on XP, here).
be well,
