A comment on the idea "Widgets for sharing news and questions?" in PBwiki:
Thanks Rachel, but I'm not looking to incorporate an external RSS feed. I am looking for an option within the wiki for users to quickly add a link, brief explanatory note, and post it to a feed that would display on the wiki. Perhaps there is some external plug-in that can work within the wiki? The main requirement would be that I wouldn't have to send users to another site to input the link information -- they need to be able to add to the news list through the site. – Paul, on June 12, 2008 13:43
A comment on the problem "Why don't my printed wiki entries look like they do online?" in PBwiki:
I think it has to do the with <ul> codes that occur when you press enter/return to move to the next line. When I go tot he source and remove those <ul> codes, the extra line disappears. Is it possible to not include these UL codes by default, or to mitigate their effect? I know that standard html doesn't have this issue, and it would seem easyt o fix – Paul, on June 12, 2008 13:19

Hi Paul,
I'm sorry for the trouble. I'm not sure why this happens, but I see the same thing at many web 2.0 websites. All I can recommend is that you use our "Printable Version" link at the bottom of the page (if you are using v2 wikis).
If you are using V1, I have a help page with suggestions on how to get what you want.

You can create a PDF and then print it or send it via email.
Good luck!

Hi Paul - you can add RSS feeds to your wiki - would that work? Just follow these steps:
1. Edit the page by clicking on the "Edit" tab.
2. Choose the "Insert Plugin" button.
3. Hover on the Productivity category.
4. Choose "Insert any Google Gadget".
5. Went to Google and set up the Custom RSS gadget with the feeds you want to include
Paul reported a problem in PBwiki on June 11, 2008 20:59:
Why don't my printed wiki entries look like they do online?I don't want to have extra spaces between lines when I print out pages -- or more precisely, I want the wiki entries I print to look how they do in the web browser. ... Even when I do the "print version" button, additional spaces magically appear, especially around bullets...
Finally, I would like to be able to save wiki entries as Word docs or PDFs, if possible, and I would like to be able to copy and paste a word document into a wiki entry without losing the formatting.
I am trying to get a business on board to use the wiki, but these are some of the issues that bring about a lot of resistance.
Paul shared an idea in PBwiki on June 11, 2008 20:57:
Widgets for sharing news and questions? One of the main utilities of the wiki is to enhance collaboration and minimize email traffic.
To that end, I would like to see a tool to create a list of a new stories that can be added to manually and that will exist as an RSS feed as well that could be used on the front page. We often come across new stories that we would like to share with everyone, along with a brief note explaining its relevance.
Also, if we could have some similar for questions (such as this tool...), that would be useful for our internal purposes as well.
Thanks!
