The feed allows you to subscribe to the sandy calender to _view_ it in iCal, gCal, etc. But you cannot _update_ sandy via iCal, gCal, etc. Hence the _two_ way sync, the feed is only one way.-

You can certainly do what you describe above easily by subscribing to Sandy's calendar of things she is handling for you from Google Calendar. Take a gander at http://iwantsandy.com/help/feeds#cale... .
