A comment on the idea "Recite the antiphons at the beginning and end of the psalms only, not between strophes" in Divine Office:
Based on the traditions of some Orders, and prayerful refection, I support the use of antiphons at the beginning and end of the strophies. The main thing is to just remember they provide some theme and relation to the season. With that I pray with you in spirit, let us unite in prayer. Amen – amis41, on December 03, 2009 18:33

Congratulations for the approval from International Commission on English in the Liturgy. Now you are on your way!
Question: Does the changes in the Liturgical Missal used in Liturgy that was approved this week, going to affect the Versions of the Liturgy of Hours being used. They said it is a massive change that will take several years to complete, about 2011 I think they said.

Ok, I change my mind. I was only suggesting daily readings, but I really like the Office Readings more. It is more a main office anyway. :-)) – amis41, on November 02, 2009 01:07

Here is a practical suggestion to know what page each prayer is on in the full version of the LOH, it is free and depending on availability of the readings, may help locating the prayers.

The music for the 21st-23rd is wonderful. Those tweaks did it it appears from the comments. You are doing a fantastic job, Dane, and special thanks to Chriss, Greg, and Denise, whose voices bring life to the written word, and invites us, to pray as a group.
OK, you don't have to sing. You are truly friends. :-))
We will add in our prayers, "We welcome back Melinda Kirigin, to the parish family there. We pray she will find interest in the Divine office ministry, with her lovely voice. She is a wonderful singer, and when she sings, everyone prays twice, lifting their souls up a level, or two, in their prayers. Lord, inspire her with your calling, to bring inspiration, and prayerful song, to the world, in your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen."

Hi Deacon Ken,
I wonder if that what all the silence is about? Fear of having to sing. I am sure the team loves a bit of humor. They are really quite a group! They appreciate friends who help and appreciate the work they are trying to accomplish. Deacon Ken, do you think we will get this group to sing? Maybe for Night Prayers after everyone has gone to bed. God bless. Thanks for the bit of humor. – amis41, on September 22, 2009 04:39

I concur with Deacon Ken. First, softer is better, the variety is great, and it is much better prayerfully. Second, yes, I can hardly wait to hear the four of them chanting, especially alternating between the men and women.
That is a wonderful point too about just listening to it, and letting it enter the soul.
Dane, I(we) will watch the music, as you requested, to let you know how it is perceived. This will help you, we hope. There have been some good comments and you are a true professional, and friend.
Peace and goodness always.

Yes, I agree most heartily, it was simply beautiful. The softness of music did not distract, it soothed the readings. Great job, Dane. – amis41, on September 19, 2009 13:06
