After using a S60 app that has such a feature (do stuff when entering a predefined collection of cells), I must say that auto-check-in on entering actually is a bit annoying. Auto-check-in after staying at a given location for more than a given number of minutes though, that would be great. One of the places I go out to for dinner and beer a few times a week is also close by the bus I take home from work, triggering a check-in just by passing by isn't that great :)

Update of FireEagle is slow

Update of FireEagle is slow, way to slow. I checked in over 3 hours ago (in public mode), and Fire Eagle still isn't updated. Fire Eagle still tinks i am at my last location (which was in private mode).

I would still like BK to not send spesific location when I am in private mote to FE. Would be nice if BK only sent the location as specified in the privacy setting for 'Everyone else'

Isn't this just a substitute of + with %2b before posting the message? Not sure what you have written brightkite in, but i would guess that this fix isn't much more than adding one line of code to the correct place.

So, any progress?

Seems that every + from a message posted gets tanslated into a space when it reaches twitter, guess there are some escaping that is missing.

A 'checkout ' would be great. While checking brightkite to see if any friends were down at the pub, it would be very useful to see a message like 'left [place] 30 minutes ago' than 'about 3 hours ago @ [place]'.

Would be great to have something like jaiku's S60 client, which uses cell info to update your location. Tagging given cells with shortnames and possibly privacy info, and doing automatic checkins.

A common friend of me and one of my friends has checked in on his home address in private mode. I (as a trusted friend) see his home address and the correct distance to him from me, my friend though only sees his last checkin, but the distance between them corresponds to the address he is at now. I have also noticed that checkins in privat mode doesn't show up at all for non-friends, even though they should see the city according to my preferences.

I think that makes perfect sense. Some places always private, some always public, and the rest follows the global setting (which gets set by checking in at any place belonging to the other two). – peder, on May 04, 2008 20:23

Checking in in private mode doesn't show up properly

Seems locations don't show up at all on the public part when I check in in private mode, even though I have set the privacysetting to 'City'
