Jonathan,
Its hard to pinpoint what happened hear. It sounds like a file was missing or corrupt that was needed to launch the admin console. This triggered the Ninja Installer. Ninja's AntiVirus is a dependency of the Exchange Information Store which is why uninstalling Ninja allowed the store to restart again.

Pete C. replied on March 27, 2009 16:47 to the question "Can you explain the "Server" and "Save as IP" settings in Vipre Enterprise?" in Sunbelt Software:
1. No, if your port forwarding is set up correctly you will not have a problem with machines outside the firewall.
2. Save As IP resolves the IP with an IPV4 call.
3. It really depends on how your have your port forwarding setup to resolve. You may have to do some testing to determine what IP address, Netbios, or FQDN is going to work for your remote users.
4. Most of our customers put their remote laptop users on a seperate policy and have, Update via the internet if local updates are not available, also. So even if they try to get updates from your server and it fails, they will still go straight to the internet and get the updates from our server.
I hope this helps.

Karla,
It sounds like the outlook plugin may still be enabled on some of your agent machines.
To disable the plugin:
Goto Start -> Run -> then type in: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software\SBEAgent\SBAMOutlook.dll"

Pete C. replied on March 25, 2009 17:01 to the question "Where do we install a "build"?! (to fix Thunderbird issues)" in Sunbelt Software:
Karla,
The build that you found in our knowledgebase is the consumer version. We just released and agent yesterday, (version 3.1.2711). The Thunderbird fix was included in it as well. As long as your Vipre server and Vipre agents are set up to receive software updates automatically they update on their own.
Pete C. replied on March 24, 2009 20:11 to the question "How can I uninstall the Vipre Enterprise Client from a command line?" in Sunbelt Software:
As of right now this cannot be done. We will be adding more switches in the future. For now this is what we have.
SBAMCommandLineScanner [parameter]
These are the valid parameters:
/displaylocaldefversion - gets current local threat definition file version
/displayvipreversion - gets current vipre version
/displaysdkversion - gets current SDK version
/scannowquick - starts a QUICK scan
/scannowdeep - starts a DEEP scan
/updatedefs - starts update definition
/applydefs [PathToDefs] - apply definitions
/enableap - enables active protection

Pete C. replied on March 20, 2009 14:42 to the problem "IE8 and VIPRE Clash!" in Sunbelt Software:
Ty,
I just installed IE8 on my machine. I have On Access Active Protection enabled with the monitors set to Paranoid and see no performance difference. IE8 was spiking the CPU while browsing so I stopped the Vipre Agent service and IE8 still acted the same. Other then the fast CPU spikes caused by browsing I couldn't see any performance difference with or without the Vipre Agent. I'm also running WXP Pro SP3. What OS were you running it on?

Mark,
As of right now you are either subscribed or unsubscribed. We are looking at other alternatives to the lyris forums because many subscribers feel that the emails can get excessive. The Vipre forum is definitely our most active forum, but last week was more active then usual. Most subscribers just use an outlook rule to route these emails to it's own folder and cut down on Inbox clutter.
