Pete Ashton marked one of Dan Lane's replies in Ping.fm as useful. Dan Lane replied to the idea "How about a Mac OS X Dashboard widget?". Pete Ashton and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

That is a brilliant idea. It would free up computers (which we can only use for an hour a day anyhow), get more people into the libraries, and would actually be someting concrete that the library could do to encourage more entrepreneurs in the city. If they set it up so that there was easy contact with the Business Insight team as well, that would work wonderfully.

peteashton shared an idea in Birmingham City Council on May 08, 2008 18:40:
Pedestrian crossings on Poplar Rd roundabout, Kings HeathThe roundabout joining Poplar, Valentine, School, Cambridge and Springfield roads has traffic issues. During rush hour and school run times it gets very busy and can be dangerous for pedestrians, not to mention school children from Kings Heath Primary. It's a busy pedestrian route linking the residential area of south Moseley with Kings Heath High Street and buses into town.
My idea is to paint pedestrian crossings across each road as it enters the roundabout giving pedestrians default right of way as they around. This would slow traffic down and make the route safer.

For folks who are concerned about the Twitter accounts that were the original subject of this thread... it appears they have all been deleted, save for one:
http://twitter.com/YellowPage still exists.

please, please..I got by for 61 years of my life without you, I think I can manage the rest of it without your patronage..I know how to manage Twitter settings, thank you. Just a small point..I have to read something, or I won't know what anyone is saying??? Little point in participating, then, wouldn't you say? I suppose by your definition, the telephone is a vanity feed? Should I have it taken out of my house, in case I stumble across something unpleasant? Don't answer that, I'm not listening.. You are completely wrong in your assessment of me and my attitude to the world, but, it might surprise you to discover that I don't care. If you want to find out what I'm really about, and I don't care whether you do or you don't, you can find out using some of your geeky apparatus, right here on the internet. You do talk such rubbish, and I don't intend wasting any more of my time listening to your foolishness..or agueing with you about your fatuous, ill concieved, and, frankly, often juvenile notions.. If you feel empowered to judge me insane, (without the benefit of a properly conducted interview by a qualified professional, something which seemed an such an important qualification to you, a short while ago, in the context of NoahDavidSimons), then I feel perfectly entitled to judge you a very silly woman who understands the world and the people in it not one wit. Yes, and too much information?..I laughed out loud at that one. I leave the readers of this response to figure out why I found it so funny. You've added little real substance to the discussion here, and, actually contorted it into a travesty, made a simple situation vastly more complicated than it really is. A nine year old could see that the man in question has been harrassing people and plying them with unwelcome obscenities, but, no, not content with a simple common sense judgement, you have to introduce politics, free speech, the war in Iraq, and host of other irrelevant red herrings, including, for goodness sake, the American Constitution, and all you have really achieved is a diminishing personal reputation. Please stay in New Jersey, the world is much too complicated for you to venture into, at least, your perception of it is.. I fear for your ability to cope with real people, who see the world a little differently, and much more simply than you, on a day by day basis. I'm not prepared to feed your errant ego any further..say what you like, think what you will, I really don't care..I mean, I actually do not care, Understand? Please, just shup up, you're a fool.. – tindle, on May 07, 2008 07:33
