I've switched to SpiderOak, one of Mozy's competitors, and am much happier so far (been using it about 2 weeks). The UI has a couple of small quirks, but the engineering is much stronger. I haven't had a single strange error message yet and transfer speeds are fine (1GB/hour over my home cable connection).
I'm going to unsubscribe from this dialog but feel free to PM me if you'd like.

Yeah one of the most frustrating things for me is that overwhelmingly, when Mozy quits the backup with some stupid error ("LostConnection1" or whatever), all you have to do is click Start Backup again to get it moving. But if this happens in the middle of the night, you lose hours of potential transmit time (during peak bandwidth availability). Why can't Mozy just restart the backup on its own? – Peter, on September 10, 2009 00:59

Little more info: The single-line issue happens on notes created on my iPhone, but not my Mac – Peter, on September 08, 2009 01:42

After having the same issue, I:
- Updated to the latest Mac OS X (10.5.8)
- Updated to the latest Mac Mozy (1.4.3.3 b7023)
- Nuked my existing Mozy install
- Deleted my computer from Mozy's servers (and 28GB I'd spent weeks uploading)
And reinstalled Mozy. Backup is happening again. Starting off with a small backup set, will expand as progress is made. Good luck.- Updated to the latest Mac OS X (10.5.8)

It should be noted that Evernote just released a new Mac version, apparently entirely dedicated to fixing these problems:

I installed it, but still copy & paste from Evernote to anything else puts everything on a single line. There's also still no "remove formatting" button.

Build a Quicksilver plugin to add Notes to the Quicksilver catalogBuild a Quicksilver plugin to add Notes to the Quicksilver catalog
Quicksilver is an incredible app; I would venture to guess at least half of Evernote users also use Quicksilver (based on my gut feeling that both appeal to the advanced Mac user demographic). The iusethis score for Evernote is currently 1893 to Quicksilver's 9714, so taking the time to integrate the two should not be considered a boutique feature.

Text styling in Evernote is desperately in need of some simplification. Let me lock notes as plain text, so they take on no formatting and I can edit them on my iPhone without trouble. Also, give me a paste-unstyled option (or better yet, a paste-styled option with paste-unstyled the default!)
I feel a lot of software pastes with styles by default because developers want to show off just how amazing clipboard technology has come from the old days when plaintext was the only option (hey look, we can paste OLE objects! isn't this great?!). Unfortunately plain text is almost always preferable for me, but very uncommon.
(P.S. a workaround for those with this problem -- to quickly convert styled text to unstyled, open Quicksilver (you have Quicksilver, right?), type period ("."), paste your text, then for the action choose Copy to Clipboard, and it will copy unstyled.)

Allow less frequent automatic refreshingThe current maximum amount of time between tweet refreshes is one hour. That's too short for me -- that's at least 8 times during the work day that I'm interrupted by tweets. On the one hand, I don't want to have to open and quit the app every time I want to check on tweets, but on the other hand, I like the automatic refresh since it makes sure I won't miss something that's only relevant during that day.
I would suggest adding options for refresh time of 1, 2, 4, and 6 hours. Another option would be to change from a dropdown menu to an input box.

Mark Unread on the iPhone appDid the delivery of "Mark Unread" buttons get misplaced? Oh no! Once you read an article on the iPhone app, it is instantly marked as read, so you won't see it on your desktop client. I preview articles all the time, and particularly with long form blogs, it's very nice to be able to skim the articles on the iPhone and just keep certain ones for later reading on a computer. This can't be that hard to implement, please consider it!
