Thanks for all of your feedback. I’ve discussed these problems with our Product Quality Manager, and it’d be great if those of you who are technically minded could provide us with log files (preferably from both ‘ends’ of the conversation). These will be invaluable in helping us diagnose and fix problems like this.

You can find instructions here – and email log files to me (peter.parkes@skype.net) with a brief description of the problematic behaviour. Please give me a shout if you have any questions.

You may be able to find Skype on download sites like download.com – let me know if you have any success there.

As Mark suggests, you can only (at the moment) change the name when you buy Skype Credit or a subscription – hope that makes things clear!

We released an update on the 17th September which should fix many of the problems – please let me know if that helps.

What happens when people make calls to the number? Does it ring, or do they get an error message?
