I too.. like many of you have had the same problem with (1) of our Macbooks. It worked fine until just recently.... now we have to be within 30 ft. of the Airport Extreme for it to work. We have taken it in to the local Apple store and it always works just fine...We have taken it to our local Panera and there is never an issue getting online.... My son has a newer version Macbook at it has no problem connecting to the internet. I have a piece of junk Dell laptop from work.. and it has no problem connecting.... So we have tried the "Safari reset" and it seems to be working.... for now!!

I've been having the same sorts of problems all day (and for intermittent periods over the past few weeks). Is your firewall set to "allow all incoming connections?" That seemed to fix mine, at least for the time being. You might also want to try resetting your PRAM, repairing permissions, or try using something like ONYX to clean out your system.

Boy, deja vu! I just purchased my MBP the first of September of 2008. I have an Airport Extreme as well. Initially I was able to connect to the Internet with no problems. About two days ago I started having the exact same problem. (October 3, 20008) I have OS X 10.5.2. I too can connect to my local network but cannot access the Internet. This is so with both Safari and Firefox. The ironic thing is that I can go to any local hot spot (ie. Panera Bread) and everything works fine! In addition, I can connect to the Internet with my iMac and two other PCs. I became an Apple guy about 3 years ago and have been sold on Macs every since, that is, until now! This is my second MBP, the first one crashed the 2nd week I had it!

Right, no fix unfortunately. Wanted to avoid re-installing everything as i don't have all the necessary software :( But this is by far the closest i have found to my issue on my internet quest.
I have found that when my laptop runs out of battery it resets its dates so that was rather curious - hasn't solved the problem though.
I'll keep on searching through some fixes and any help will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

I have the same problem on my iBook G4. I have reset Safari but still no connection. Am now in the process of restarting to see if this makes a difference. I'll get back to you on that one!
This is what happened so far:
I'm not a very techie person so am seriously running out of patience with my ibookG4. The situation is the following:
(sure it's simple but want to give you as much info as poss for no confusion)
I've had it since december 2007 (2nd hand) and have been using the internet at home on wireless ever since with no problem until about 8 weeks ago when the messages ...
"Do you want the application "configd" to accept incoming network connections"
and
" Do you want the application "mdnsresponder" to accept incoming network connections"
...started to pop up. At some point i may have clicked no to this but for a while it was just an annoying procedure which meant network diagnostics and entering my password every time i opened Safari.
However, the situation now is that i have airport signal at full strength, my home internet name comes up on the list of available networks, but when i open safari and type in a web address it says
"You are not connected to the internet"
When I perform Net Diagnostics is says that
"Your network configuration has changed" (i am administrator and have not changed it and everybody else in my house, macs and pcs, don't have this problem)
So, i type in the usual WEP password but it is not recognized - still no internet. I've tried turning router off then on - nothing. I called provider, they talked me through disabling airport and using ethernet which worked that day but not now after it's been off.
This may have all coincided with me synchronizing my new iPhone to ibook or the installation of a new mac desktop to the network- it all happened around the same time and all other hardware still works fine.
Anything spring to mind???
Thanks in advance.
Loz

ugh! I hate sprint a lot sometimes. I hadn't thought about how it sends you an email w/a link instead of the file... I know that in the past, when tumblr upgraded my images would stop posting. To solve it the programmer had me send him a pic and then he did some magical thing with the information he gathered from the email sprint generated and then it would work till the next upgrade. So perhaps whatever he's doing is also the way to get video to post.
He's called marco (marco.org) maybe he knows what to do. Maybe he'll tell you what it is!
I love the idea of this and I'd love to do it w/o having to upload thru email. Can I have a "browse" button to upload through the site? That'd be nifty.
Also on my wish list would be a way to post this automatically on tumblr!

I submit videos using the Nokia E65 built-in mail client. I find the video in the media gallery, send it via email, click in the TO field and I have 12secondstv in my address book so I simply click it which marks its checkbox, do OK and it returns to email composer.
Then I enter a subject, copy the text to the body (editing it to leave just keyboards, I'm kind of hoping that the body will be the tags), and hit send.

Resetting Safari clears out the caches of websites. These caches can slow down the internet connection and eventually halt it altogether. I know that it doesn't at first seem like it could stop the computer from connecting to the internet, but I work with MacBooks, and many times I have seen the problem completely fixed simply by resetting Safari.

I have a similar issue with my MBP. Connection to the network and Internet had worked fine for months using an Airport Extreme. Then, over time, I've noticed the connection to the Internet taking longer and longer, while connection to the network is fine (I can hit my network drives wirelessly with no problems).
As of 2 days ago, I cannot get wireless access to the Internet on my MBP. My wife's Dell laptop can wirelessly hit the web.
Any thoughts?
By the way, @cjwinn: what does Safari have to do with accessing the web?

Sprint Users... it seems that in many cases Sprint does not send the actual video file to the recipient. Instead, they send the file to one of their servers and then the recipient receives a link to that file. We are working on a parser to handle this function so that 12seconds will work normally with the carriers that do this.
We apologize for the inconvenience and problems. When we have this working, we will update this thread.
thanks everyone! we really appreciate your support and help!

Haven't heard back from Jacob (or another 12seconds staffer) yet after sending an email. Very much understand that they're likely swamped with getting the functionality where they want it all across the board though. For those with Sprint Treo phones that ARE successfully sending, what method are you using--as an attachment to an email, or using the "share video" or upload to online or what? thanks for investigating. the uploads/posts seem quite inconsistent. i sent a test vid from my sprint palm centro today (Aug20) -- sent same vid twice... 10:39a EST with "x" in the address... and 10:42a EST with "+". As of this post @ 10:54a... nada! – peteypk, on August 20, 2008 14:54
