I'm sorry if the mention of "sales" put you off - I know how that can be :) . Initially, I was more interested in getting you in touch with the right person to talk thru Amazon's Elastic Block Storage - we are a small company and we all wear many hats! However wrt to using elastic Servers, for development/testing you can use the Community Edition for free as long as you want. The Personal Edition was designed for small ISVs and small Commercial/Production usage. This edition is $10.00/ month (Free for first 30 days) and gives you 10 saved elastic servers, 10 dev servers per month, 10 downloads per month, 5 production servers (at any one time).
