I'm changing my system configuration - plugging my USB drive into a machine that will act as a mythtv backend. I'd like to mount the media drive on the network and have songbird access it from there. I'm just staying within linux.
Flo, can your method work for me? My playlist entries seem to contain /media/MyBook as the mount point, and if I change the directory where my files are mounted, won't this throw songbird off?
Where is the DB located, anyway, and what would it be named? I've tried to find it and can't. I would be willing to explore doing a find/replace somhow with a new directory.-

Why does my Sonbird in linux not play flac, ogg?My Songbird used to play FLAC, but now sometimes I get media core errors "does not recognize stream," and other times it appears to be playing but there is no sound. mp3s play fine. Ogg doesn't work either. Gstreamer is installed. What to do?

Hi alfred,
I tried putting 2 different versions of libflashplayer.so into my Songbird/lib directory - no dice. The reason I have to suspect that I can use flash player in Songbird is that I installed an add-on called "smarty pants" that says it will play reccomended tracks by streaming them via last.fm. When I click on these recommendations, it opens up the track page in last.fm, and there is no player.

SPDIF digital coaxial out stops working when I play music with SongbirdWhen I boot up my Linux machine, I get sound out of my SPDIF digital out when using Firefox. Then I try to play Songbird and it stops, and doesnt work through Firefox until I restart the computer. My instincts tell me that Songbird is taking over via ALSA and not letting go. Help?
