Phil replied on November 09, 2009 22:08 to the idea "Keyboard shortcut to mark page as read" in Feedly:
I was hopeful when I saw this because I thought it implemented a feature I've long been wanting. Unfortunately not.
I was hoping for was a keyboard shortcut for "mark page as read", not for "mark category as read". I frequently scan a category, read the articles I want, and then mark the page as read and refresh to get a new batch in the category. It is far less often I want to mark the entire category as read without even seeing the article summaries.
I wonder if you would consider changing the new "mark as read" shortcut accordingly or adding a new shortcut for this function?
Thanks

The 2.8 version you have is the "stable" less-frequently updated version of feedly. So it might not get the fix for some time. The version with the fix is at feedly.com (the 2.x version). Go there and reinstall to get the fix immediately.
You were probably on the 2.x version at first, but switched to the 2.8 version just before the fix rolled out to 2.x.

Phil reported a problem in Feedly on September 17, 2009 03:51:
New layout on grid version of coverWas this on purpose? I'm afraid I don't understand the reason for the change (nor do I like it). The grid layout is supposed to be higher density relative to other layouts, but the two columns of articles with pictures is a big step away from that. Also my selection of feeds is light on pictures. With one picture, a feedly default picture wasn't terrible. But with six article pictures and 3 or 4 of them the default visuals (some repeated), the wasted space is undesirable and not visually appealing.
The previous list of unread articles for a selection of feed wasn't critical, but gave me a quick look at where there were feeds with new articles I might want to navigate to directly. And the photo feed, though useless (especially with a link that appeared to be hard coded) was easy to ignore.
Also the inline expansion is broken.
Phil replied on September 16, 2009 21:15 to the problem "Mark as read: older than one week broken" in Feedly:
Not entirely fixed. From a category page I selected mark all read that are older than a week. There probably weren't any such articles. Good news, feedly didn't mark as read a bunch of recent articles; bad news, feedly marked as UNREAD some previously read articles published within the last week for at least one of the feeds.
It actually appears more like feedly became confused as the articles on the feed page and the unread count changed several times after refreshing without always being consistent.

Mark as read articles older than 1 day is also broken. I have version: 2.x.042 (build 2893).
On the topic of mark-as-read,
1) Would really like a key for mark page as read
2) Does the mark-as-read icon still need to be placed to the far, out of the way side of the search box (presumably to avoid accidental presses) now that there are confirm mark-as-read pop-ups? (I configured mine to be off, thanks Edwin)
Thanks!

Phil replied on August 28, 2009 22:36 to the idea "Mini-Icon Measles" in Feedly:
I don't have strong feelings about this. My sense was that feedly has tried to keep a functional, uncluttered appearance. In the contexts described above, the mini-icons seem to run counter to that goal. But I can live with them and a preference knob is probably not worth the extra complication. There are also probably a number of more important things for the feedly team to be working on.
Don't both altering the icons on my account, Edwin, but thanks for your concern as always.
Phil shared an idea in Feedly on August 28, 2009 06:38:
Mini-Icon MeaslesDon't like the mini-icons everywhere. On a feed page within a category feed section an icon anywhere except the feed title is a waste of space and a distraction. The mini icons on featured articles on cover, digest, category pages look bad and seem to provide a marginal benefit at best.
