I'm sorry we've given you this impression.
The problem resulted from a typo of mine. I updated the DNS entries in our system incorrectly. Unfortunately, when I tested it from my home system I was connected to our VPN and thus was getting the correct DNS entries (but from a private DNS server, not our public one).
Because of this bonehead, I had incorrectly assumed that the public DNS was setup and working correctly.
Long story short, I hope we can win back your trust and I would be happy to talk with you about our platform architecture so that I can help address your concerns. (Suffice to say "typo"s don't happen on our platform, but can happen obviously outside of it - as was the case here). Hi Roj - I agree - speed is super important to us. While we're not yet perfect, there are a number of influences on speed. I was wondering if you could help me understand your specific experiences? A few questions:
1. What was slow? (Everything? Login? Adding Items to your Page? etc)
2. Can you let me know your Site name or email address you've logged in as?
3. Where are you located?
4. Can you let me know a little about your computer, browser you use and your internet connection?
Thanks - this will help me understand and hopefully address the issue for you.

Hi - this message isn't related to network or systems maintenance.
It is actually telling us that something is impacting raw communications between the browser and and our network. (ie - time it takes to get from your network to our firewall - independent of the time it takes to process a particular application request).
Drop me an email via philc at sitemasher and we'll figure out where the bottleneck is.
