To be honest, I don't use the Nike+ system, but I've been using the schedules on the old training log for a few months (and a few months a couple years back). By not allowing runners to input their own mileage, a whole cross-section of non-iPod-owning individuals (or at least non Nike+ individuals) are missing out on what a great resource the Coach feature is.
It seems strange that a company that is supposed to have been built for and by athletes (amateur and professional) is turning an awesome training tool into a 'members only' club. True, some people will buy the system to be a part of the group, but I think Nike will also be turning a lot of people off by making it mandatory. It's a blatant attempt at milking more money from customers who just want to run.-

A comment on the question "Training Log" in NikeRunning/Nike+:
No problem, lisa. According to other posts I've read from the team at Nike, there will (within the very near future) be a transition period where Nike will contact everyone who has a Nike Training Log account and explain how to move all of our data from this log to the new, Nike+ Coach.
When and how this will happen has yet to be officially determined (as far as I know). This discussion has been going on in a number of forums for a few weeks now, so hopefully Nike will stick to their plan of combining the old information with the new system. – Phil McCollam, on August 16, 2009 03:46

It looks like the log is still up for now; it's just not accessible through the website.-

Access Nike Training Log (not Nike+)I would love to have access to my training log from http://insidenikerunning.nike.com/cat...
I don't have Nike+ (nor do I plan to get a Nike+ system) and I love the ease of creating a schedule and checking off my runs. Can a non-Nike+ training log be added to this site?-
