Dear BugMeNot
Your pseudo would do for me as a request to you... ;)
you really don't like what I have written, do you? And apart from getting personal, do you have any idea of your own? You seem to have a lot of time for something apparently not worth of your interest
That said, importing Google Chrome, Opera, and Microsoft Internet Explorer could be a good idea if someone could be kind enough to give it 5 minutes..... er, kidding of course
Instead of bashing me because I can't express my ideas in a simple way in english as you seem to be able to do it, english being my first foreign language after all, please do help me to improve my wording as I have invited you to do so in a previous post. – Philippe Nicolai-Dashwood, on February 07, 2009 23:54

buzzwords? from Wikipedia: "a vague idiom, usually a neologism, that is common to managerial, technical, administrative, and political work environments. Although meant to impress the listener with the speaker's pretense to knowledge, buzzwords render sentences opaque, difficult to understand and question, because the buzzword does not mean what it denominates, yet does mean other things it ought not mean."
Are you the kind to drown in a mere half empty glass of water? ;) the only one that may qualify is "freemium". The rest is vocabulary that may have been abused by others :D
If you have better words to express the same ideas, please do be my guest :) – Philippe Nicolai-Dashwood, on February 07, 2009 22:51

Good question... and I dare answer that I don't know ;) but do we have to?
IMO, the problem is not in being for profit but in disclosing sources (or not). I gladly accept for profit (as in a freemium business model for example) as long as the app is open source blending nicely in the newly created FF dynamic task-oriented environment *bird whistles and flower petals*... :) – Philippe Nicolai-Dashwood, on February 07, 2009 17:22-

Tim's reply to "Ubiquity suggestions with respect to Launchy." was just promoted to the most useful! Philippe Nicolai-Dashwood and 3 other people think it's one of the best replies.
Launchy is my most important productivity aid, it has changed the way I work in a similar way to google search.
I have used goosh and Yubnub, yahoo pipes and several similar utilities, but none have the potential of ubiquity.
If we could wrap the two together to better integrate the web and desktop it would be truly awesome-
