Just to follow up. what if i put the 17''macbook into a separate classic laptop sleeve and then placed this in the medium messenger bag, would that fit?

Would it be possible to build a medium laptop messenger with a large built-in laptop sleeve. I am about to get the 17'' macbook pro, but i don't really want a bag as large as the "large laptop messenger." thanks for the help
