Adding details from a duplicate request:
"Search function by topics, google type. The search by active topic function is not always very easy to use, since there are a lot of threads going on at the same time the search function could also be made more effective by auto tagging your own videos (such as on you tube), possibly with an auto fill function (making suggestions as you type) to avoid having too many different tags" - Pierre

Sorry, but this does not really make sense. The notification is to let you know that you received a message when you are not logged in. If you are logged in, you can see the message in your inbox, and no need of a link to access it, if you know it is there. If the message linking to the received video does not actually *link* to it, the message should state: "go to your inbox and check your private messages!". I just got someone very confused with this who thought *I* had sent him a private message - which I didn't - probably because the person who sent it to him put my name in the title? I think this is a bigger issue than I first thought of. – Otir, on July 12, 2008 18:50

I am really sorry for the inconvenience.
We have a new version of the site we're working on that will take care of this issue. Meanwhile, you can get around the problem, by opening http://seesmic.com/home in a new window/tab, logging in there, and then reloading the original window/tab. That should keep you logged in for a while and let you see the video.

I joined this problem several weeks ago too, but nobody replied, and I still have it each and every time I get an email warning me I received a direct video. I then have to log in the black seesmic to check my inbox instead of accessing directly through the email.
I see it as an issue when I have lots of videos in my inbox and want to access directly to the direct message, I have to scroll down and notice it among the others.-

In fact, no I didn't. But I just tried it, and I got a blank (what, frame?) section rather than a timeline of the thread. So while that sounds like a neat feature, it isn't working for me. And that makes me a sad panda.
Also, what I want would be an actual threaded view, kind of like Thunderbird or other e-mail programs, with new threads at the top and replies under the parent video. I'm not saying it should be the default view (though I rub my hands together with glee at the thought of inflicting my whims upon the masses), but an option for viewing the discussion tree.

Graphical threaded viewGraphical threaded view—it would be nice to be able to navigate back to the top level of replies, see who's said what on a subject, see how the discussion has progressed. I feel like this should be a part of Seesmic, and I'm unhappy that I can't use it now. Sniff.
