this is my first time setting up and i have a lot of bookmarks but it has been sitting here with no progress for a few hours ... the log doesn't indicate much either.

i had to pick up a free DTA box from comcast to get the channels back plus a few extras ... it works, but its not the solution i was looking for since now i can only use 1 of my tv tuners at a time instead of being able to record 2 shows at once with my dual tv tuner card.

Apparently this is part of their digital transition, not the DTV switch from back in feb/june that they said we didn't have to worry about. This is their own digital clusterfuck they decided to sneak in without much warning.

Also now i have an extra remote and even more wires. I suspect comcast did this as a way to track how many tvs you own and also track your tv viewing habits ... overall a very disappointing and frustrating situation.

I'm missing channels a bunch of channels entirely as well. some channels close to those missing appear fuzzy as they approach this block of missing channels.
cable attached to dvr is fine but cable attached to my tv or media center pc is FUBAR.

just what the hell is going on here?

i recently noticed too that i am missing channels 20-60 ... our main set with comcast dvr is fine but using windows media center connected to the cable linke i am getting static as channels get closer to the range [20-60] , and those channels are just static or total fuzz

similarly on a mac you can mount the dmg then issue the command as follows from the terminal
$ /Volumes/Adobe\ AIR/Adobe\ AIR\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ AIR\ Installer -uninstall
