Thanks for offering Brent,
Let me add some more info. The video connection between the Pro and the HDTV HDMI port works great. The audio, not so good. Raising the volume doesn't work, and I've tried another 3.5 mm jack. So, now I'll try optical!
Any recommnedations or thoughts on optical audio out of a MacBook Pro?
Thanks, pk

Apple and Microsoft fonts look very different. Apple attempts to make their fonts look very close to print quality and they do look 'fuzzier'. I much prefer Apple's fonting tech, but you may be picking up on the 'fuzzier' quality as a degradation.
If you haven't been aorund Macs very long get an old timer to look at your display and have him give you an opinion. If they're 'good', you might just have to get used to it.

Huh? Warranty replacement took 3 weeks! Apple's known for 2 day turn arounds.
I think you're a troll.
"And they refused to fix my IPod because it is a month over its warranty." Apple has a secret warranty program where they fix iPods within a month or two of warranty end. You're either very unlucky or just a troll.
Hope your luck changes.

Noisy O/P to HDMI from MacBook Pro (early Intel)When I connect an audio wire on to my Sony HDTV I get noise. How do I correct this? Might it eb the quality of the RCA mini jack I'm placing into the port? And is going optical to HDMI costly?

Good Searching Tips on Apple (the computer co.)?I want to create a filter for Apple, the computer co. If I start w/ 'Apple' I get Apple records and apple, the fruit. If I add 'records' and 'fruit' to my negative list, I'll lose some 'good' Apple hits because some articles on my Apple will refer to record and even fruit as in fruit colored iPods. Any ideas?
