A comment on the question "Lifecast needs a Re-Send option or check to ensure posts have been correctly sent." in Sleepydog:
"I posted 3 lengthy messages on my ipod when connected to a 'pay-as-you-go' wifi accesspoint without actually paying" So you're asking for a fix to allow you to do something you shouldn't be doing?!? – pListOFF, on May 16, 2009 22:29
A comment on the problem "Tags not openmeta-compliant" in Gravity Applications:
And so far your tactics have failed to produce the desired results. Instead of berating people about issues which you have obviously misjudged (and I quote, "Well, it looks like it was caused by a particular program..." - so do you proffer them an apology?), why don't you do a little more leg work before posting?
These are indie developers, probably one or two guys, with a tough choice: take time to fix problems with the app or sit here waiting for more people to speak up. Don't make it harder on them, Support is a tough enough gig... and sheesh, you only paid $30 - I guarantee you pay more for your monthly cable bill and I'm sure their service is MUCH worse. – pListOFF, on April 24, 2009 01:57

Matthew: If you're writing OpenMeta Tags with Default Folder X, Tags will pick them up. Make sure you have "OpenMeta Tags" selected in the DFX dropdown in the Save Dialog.
I just saved a file and tagged it MatthewAWean with DFX in the Save dialog (a tag I obviously would never have used). I then invoked Tags, started to type Matt and there was the Tag.
BTW, the problem of a shared Recent Tags store is NOT just Gravity's problem. That being said, I still encourage them to join forces with the OpenMeta group to make this a system everyone can sue with no reverse-engineering on any developers' part.

A potential problem, if you were looking at using the title... The title may support 100+ characters but it won't display very well in LifeCast.
It almost seems like there needs to be a "layer" with the picture and a "layer" with the text contents of the entry. And maybe I'm the only person in the universe who cares and it's a non-starter... >.< Cheers!

It actually posts the comment along with a shortened URL in the same tweet.
Like, This is a cool picture, http://178s.kd ... (or whatever, and that's a fake URL, people >.< ) I am not sure but I would imagine that the URL counts against the 140 characters allowed in the tweet but I think the shortened URLs are fixed length.
Hope this helps.
pListOFF replied on April 22, 2009 12:38 to the problem "Posted Entry not always checked" in Sleepydog:
No error messages, Peter. No tick is displayed on the bottom bar of the Entry or on the right hand side of the bar on the Entries List.
I haven't been able to reproduce the error so I can't provide steps to follow but it has happened twice in the past 2 days (since my Twitter login started working).
...
Interesting, I noticed the 2 that didn't check were the second entires of each day so I shot off a test tweet. No dice, that one didn't display a tick. Sending a second one did display a tick. Arghh! ;^)

Post TwitPics with a CommentWhen you post with TwitPic you can add a tweet before you upload your image. It would be nice if LifeCast would allow you to do a similar thing. (BTW, very nice job on the posting images to Twitter mechanism!)

Why don't you NOT import your entire Collection? Try importing a very small subset and see how Fontcase behaves. If it behaves itself, add some more and see, ... – pListOFF, on April 21, 2009 15:04
pListOFF reported a problem in Sleepydog on April 21, 2009 14:58:
Posted Entry not always checkedI am only posting to Twitter so I can't speak to other blog postings but after pressing "Post to Blog" I don't always get a check mark in the lower right hand corner.
Returning to the Entries List, there isn't a check mark there either but checking my Twitter account, the post was made successfully.
pListOFF shared an idea in Sleepydog on April 21, 2009 03:32:
Return to the Entry List after postingIt would be nice if LifeCast would return to the Entries List after posting a blog.
1. This eliminates having to manually click back to it.
2. Since there is no other way to start an Entry except on the Entry List page, it allows you to create Entries more quickly.
3. As it stands, speaking only for Twitter posts I've made, you post and then the only visual cue you get is a tiny check mark in the lower right hand corner. But then the page just sits there... it feels very anti-climactic. Returning to the Entries List after posting elicits a sense of excitement (however small, it's there - I design workflows for a living so I have to be aware how people react to software / systems ;^D ) that makes you want to start another Entry. Remember, the more LifeCast makes it easier to post, the more peple will use it.
Just my 2 pence...
pListOFF replied on April 21, 2009 03:23 to the idea "Twitter character count" in Sleepydog:
I see what you're saying but...
You can only use one Blog service per LifeCast from what I can see.
So what about a simple ivar like...
- isTwitterConfigured : BOOL
If TRUE then just do a subString search on the first 140 characters and color them a nice blue or something. The color itself doesn't get posted to Twitter but it would be a nice visual cue of what text will be posted. The User can continue to type past the 140 characters but at least it would be obvious what was getting sent. This way you don't have to add a counter or anything just for Twitter LifeCasts... isTwitterConfigured would just be FALSE so no coloring would take place.
Just a thought...
pListOFF shared an idea in Sleepydog on April 20, 2009 04:15:
Twitter character countWhen Twitter is one of the blogs configured there should be some visual cue that you've reached your 140 character limit. You can keep typing but it should be obvious that only the first 140 characters are going to Twitter.
