I'm still having the problem, I updated google chrome and the text is still distorted. I'm using windowsXP, my resolution is 1680x1050 60hz refresh rate, 20 inch LCD (NEC), and the latest versions of firefox/chrome. Here's a larger screenshot to get the whole picture.

Distorted text in google chrome
The text under "featured/top results/search results" and "now playing" looks kind of distorted in google chrome. I've confirmed this on two different computers.
