Uploader not updated when file is deletedI deleted a previously uploaded media file with the uploader open, and the available space wasn't updated on the uploader. I had to refresh the page for the correct amount to be displayed, and the freed space to be considered available...-

kimsomi,
We can't reset passwords on drops because we don't have any way to verify that you are the creator of the drop not, say, the ex of the creator of the drop who's up to no good.
This will, however, be addressed as soon as our password recovery feature is rolled out either on Friday or early next week.
Can you send us an e-mail with the name of your drop?
contact@dropio.com
Thanks,
Peter F.

Would be nice if we could keep the drop name. But since we can't delete the drop we created since we can't login, I guess we just have to move on and find another handle, even after we've shared the first with our friends?
is there no way to request a drop to be dropped? I could attach the cookie session id from when I created the drop.-

Hey Chris,
Sorry to hear about that!
The only time an admin password can be established is when a drop is first created and during the first visit. It can always be changed later.
Since we try to keep our users and their drops as private as possible, we never ask for any personal information. This means that we don't have any way of verifying who created a drop and so we can't reset/assign passwords or look up lost drops.
We know this can be inconvenient but because we are aiming to keep as little of your personal (and we think sacred, right?) info off of the web, that's the trade-off.
Best,
Peter F.

Admin password doesn't workHo !
I just created a drop, and something went wrong with the form while giving it an admin password, the server lost connection or something. The drop works, but I can't login to the admin section...
What can be done about that ?
drop.io has been indispensable to me so far. Huge thanks !

Ahh.. thanks for letting me know.. I tried, but since I got the error I thought I had to put in some sort of text. Thanks! – Mario Menti, on October 20, 2008 20:37

Actually, the reason he mentioned ur1.ca is because that is the official shortener of identi.ca and laconi.ca. Every URL is CC-licensed (somehow) and the database is downloadable. – Thomas, on August 01, 2008 22:11

Cool, thanks for testing! I noticed there's currently at least one local laconi.ca install being posted to from twitterfeed, which also seems to work fine, so that's promising! – Mario Menti, on August 01, 2008 17:47
