You have 2 options:
1) Post short URLs that are less the 30 characters and have mostly alpha numeric characters.

2) Shorten it yourself so you can control what the shortened URL looks like.

Some times if the URL shortening service Twitter users is slow they will skip shortening it.

After completing 2 more tasks I am now up to 12.66M after fully refreshing the page.

I had 12.6M in Liquid Assets then I performed a task acquiring another ~225k. That somehow ended up with me having 12.27M....

It is an intermittent issue that only shows up once in a while.

Thousands of sites provide links to post to Twitter in the format http://twitter.com/home?status=text+here to avoid having to deal with the API. The new redirect from /home to /timeline/home drops any GET params breaking *all* existing links that point to /home.

It even breaks the reply swoops on https://twitter.com/timeline/home

People used to be able to email username@twitter.com to get an inactive account released. This no longer is supported though. Instead an email is sent specifiying:

[...] you'll have to wait until all inactive user names are released.

I would like to have a username that was registered in 2007 and has no updates.
Is there a timeframe we can expect or is this a lost cause?
