I also noticed @Jmcoon following me today. I figured with 5000k+ followers he must have a pretty big online presence. Doing a Google search [1] returned odd results. My favorite being stats on Twitterholic [2]. Interesting anomalies such as dropping from 1,691 followers to 1 and then back up to 3,632. Or going from 130k friends to 4.4k friends. There is also his website, facebook page, and several posts here on GS. Including one where he is complaining about having his account disabled.
The issues with incorrect following stats could be because of Twitters recent instability.

From a security point of view I don't think any page asks for a password should hide the address bar. It may make things a little uglier but over all it make the internet a safer place. Personally I can't wait for OAuth and OpenID to be implemented on every web service.
Even if anyone can right-click and see the true url most "average" users won't know they can do that. I'm not concerned with with Socialthing! phishing passwords but if people get used to you using poor security practice the next web service they use might not be as trustworthy.
Thanks for you responses.

Having a tab open next to my current tab does not break the workflow but I can see how it would for some people. Actually having to sign into Facebook when I already am breaks the workflow more for me.
It does seem like all i hear about Facebooks app platform is they won't let you do what you need it to do.
abraham williams replied on March 21, 2008 21:45 to the question "Socialthing! does not need the ability to delete Flickr photos." in Socialthing:
Currently I only add photos to Flickr through their web interface or using a program I have complete control over. So the ability for Socialthing! to upload pictures isn't useful to me. I look forward to the ability to use only the "Read" access level for Flickr.
I was not implying that I felt Socialthing! would delete my photos just that its a authorization level I'm not wiling to give to anyone.
Maybe Flickr will implement a "Add" only level of authorization where you can add photos but not delete them.
Thanks.

abraham williams shared an idea in Socialthing on March 21, 2008 21:34:
Adding services to My Service should open in new tab. When i try to authenticate Flickr, Vimeo, and Facebook to My Services list they should open in a new tab or a new window where the address bar is visible. I refuse to enter passwords into a window where I can't tell what the URL is. Plus I shouldn't even have to use a Facebook password since you can use an application.

Socialthing! does not need the ability to delete Flickr photos. Why does Socialthing! want access to be able to delete my Flickr photos? There is no reason Socialthing! needs anything other than read access.-
