I'll try and reclarify: If I import iTunes library into Songbird, are the files in Songbird still attached to iTunes? Or can I alter iTunes (uninstall) and still have working Songbird files?

I noticed iTunes wants me to uninstall it before I upgrade to Windows 7. iTunes is not cooperating, and won't allow me to back up a good portion of my library (for whatever reason, I don't know?) Would it be possible to import the library into Songbird, then uninstall iTunes and still have all my music in Songbird?

Or by uninsalling iTunes would I be messing up Songbird's metadata and creating a big mess?

Just trying to find a way to get all my music to stay on my comp before I upgrade to W7 without having to re upload EVERYTHING.
