K. Latham replied on October 24, 2009 03:29 to the problem "problem with showing dvd on TV" in ITL PVBX:
Sounds like you are using the global connect tool in setup, you might be coming up with a priority conflict problem. The connect tool in setup was made for testing, and has the highest priority. Doing a blank screen on the output not working will clear any priority settings made to it. Also you don't need to reboot the server to reset things. Call our office on Monday, we'll walk you through trouble shooting.
K. Latham replied on August 20, 2009 19:53 to the question "Private Blog?" in Blog Oklahoma:
No.
The whole point of the web ring is to have people to view your blog. If your blog is private, then no one outside your selected group can read it. If you make your blog public, or have a mix of public/private posts (Some blogging services will let you flag specific posts as private) Then you can join the Blog Oklahoma web ring.

If you have joined, just click on "Member Login" in the upper right corner of the site. If you forgot your password, click on "Forget your password?" on the login page, type in your e-mail address. After you get all logged in, you'll be at the "Manage Your Account" page. On the right of that page you'll see a link for web ring codes. You shouldn't miss it. It says, "Click Here To Get Web Ring Codes"

Buzz on audioAudio noise is typically caused by ground loops or poor grounds. To start trouble-shooting remove the PVBX from the equation. Take the audio video coming from a camera where it plugs into the PVBX and instead plug it into a TV. Do you have noise now? If not go to the next cable from another room and repeat to make sure all runs from classrooms are clean. When you find a noisy run, try these steps to isolate the problem:
1. Try different A/V cables, a bad cable at either end can cause problems, and I have seen this with PIs cheap cables
2. Connect a TV directly to the camera in the room, you will get feed-back squeal if you turn the volume up too high, but at low volume there should be no hum. If there is hum, swap out the camera; try powering the camera from a separate AC adapter. Make sure the A/B box is set internally to 12Volts (jumper completely to the end, when you open the case up)
3. Look at the video modulators, (swap out each A/B box, one at a time). Each modulator was tested before shipping, but stranger things have happened.
4. Is the run punched down correctly? Crossed wires will put DC on the audio or video.

How to set up a Cross LinkWhen filling out the PVBX Map, be sure to enter in a Cross-Link (XLink) record for both the Input and the Output. The example show below is a XLink from Box A to Box B (one way)
Its recommended you have at least 2 cross links in both directions. (Example: 2 XLinks A into B and 2 XLinks B into A)
Software update to Cross Linking:
After you set up your cross links as shown above,
Go to the PVBX Server.
Click on the "Stop Server" button to stop the system,
Click on the "XLink Map" button to build the Cross Link Map.,
Click on the "Start Server" after the XLink Map has completed to start the server again
More information is available in setup manual
K. Latham asked a question in ITL PVBX on June 10, 2009 19:16:
Why do you keep saying write down and label everything? After running CAT5, plugging in all the devices, and plugging in all the other cables, you will end up with a mass of over and under lapping cables. If you ever need to troubleshoot a connection, you don't want to spend to bulk of the day hunting for one cable. That is why you want to label everything.

Also had this error on Vista SP1. Tried loading manually suggested by wiki. regsvr32 BTShExt.dll. It failed and reports:
