K. Latham replied on January 13, 2009 19:11 to the problem "failed to initialize properly" in BumpTop:
Also had this error on Vista SP1. Tried loading manually suggested by wiki. regsvr32 BTShExt.dll. It failed and reports:
The module "BTShExt.dll failed to load.
Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

The flash player is the same one used by the PodPress add-on for WordPress.
If your blogging software supports embeds, the flash player is easy to embed into your posts. You can even customize the colors.

How to troubleshoot a buzz on audio feeds?Audio noise is typically caused by ground loops or poor grounds. To start trouble-shooting remove the PVBX from the equation. Take the audio video coming from a camera where it plugs into the PVBX and instead plug it into a TV. Do you have noise now? If not go to the next cable from another room and repeat to make sure all runs from classrooms are clean. When you find a noisy run, try these steps to isolate the problem:
1. Try different A/V cables, a bad cable at either end can cause problems, and I have seen this with PIs cheap cables
2. Connect a TV directly to the camera in the room, you will get feed-back squeal if you turn the volume up too high, but at low volume there should be no hum. If there is hum, swap out the camera; try powering the camera from a separate AC adapter. Make sure the A/B box is set internally to 12Volts (jumper completely to the end, when you open the case up)
3. Look at the video modulators, (swap out each A/B box, one at a time). Each modulator was tested before shipping, but stranger things have happened.
4. Is the run punched down correctly? Crossed wires will put DC on the audio or video.

What is a PVBX?A PVBX or Private Video Branch eXchange is video switch available with-Rate funds The PVBX switch connects Cameras, DVDs, VCRs and Cable / Satellite boxes to TVs in Classrooms and Offices around the school.
All of this media infrastructure can be accessed and controlled by Web based software on any school PC. It’s very simple and intuitive to use.
The switch has between 32 and 128 inputs and outputs that can all be controlled and connected independently. PVBX switches can be ganged to build a huge array for a large Campus.
Security is built in, to limit who, how and when the switch can be controlled. The nine ways the switch can be used in a school environment are shown at the top of the page. Any or all of the modes can happen simultaneously.

Block a spammer botCan someone at Twitter please block the6figureteam(dot)com bot from spamming? I think I've blocked well over 200 of their spam accounts just last week alone, and at least 4 just this morning.
Big thanks to everyone here at GS/T on posting those spam accounts. The block list is getting huge (or at least it would be if I could see it).-
