A comment on the question "Windows not displaying" in The Infinite Kind:
on linux just apply the above mentioned settings (modifying startup script)
but you should make sure it has nothing to do with desktop effects – Raimund Buchholz, on May 12, 2009 16:17

current beta doesn't work with MD 2007, please use only under MD 2008 – Raimund Buchholz, on April 19, 2009 10:10

different to other extensions, MD needs to be restarted to get this one working! – Raimund Buchholz, on April 19, 2009 09:35

Subject: [moneydance] New Plugin - Budget Bars - Beta 1
Announcing a new plugin for Moneydance: Budget Bars. This Home Page view
shows user-selected categories with actual spending graphed
thermometer-style against budgeted spending. See attached screenshot of some
canned data.
This is the first beta release of the plugin. You can download the plugin
(and find more information about it) here:
http://www.mennesoft.com/budgetbars/i...
This plugin requires Java 1.5 at a minimum, so it should work with older Mac
operating systems. Windows and Linux machines should already be on Java 1.6
so there shouldn't be any problem there.
The plugin is free and the source code will be released after it reaches
version 1.0.
Enjoy!

Subject: [moneydance] Find and Replace Plugin 1.0 Released
To: General discussion related to Moneydance
<moneydance-info@moneydance.com>
I have now posted Version 1.0 of the Find and Replace plugin (note the
slightly different URL now):
http://www.mennesoft.com/findandrepla...
Additionally, as promised the source code is also released here:
http://code.google.com/p/moneydance/
New in this release are support for English, French, Italian, German,
Spanish, Greek, Norwegian and Brazilian Portuguese locales. Additionally,
the Free Text search can include the Check # field as well as Description or
Memo.
There were also a handful of bugs fixed. This will be the last release until
sometime after Moneydance 2009 is released.
Please send comments or suggestions to info@mennesoft.com, or bugs to
bugs@mennesoft.com. Enjoy!
Thanks,
--Kevin

A comment on the question "Windows not displaying" in The Infinite Kind:
Windows has nothing to do with that as it is a java problem - because of that using safe mode does not help
the proposed setting is a jave one, so on commandline it would look similar to this:
"java -cp xxx.jar,xxy.jar -Xmx256m -jar md.jar"
Because you use the app launcher "Moneydance.exe", the setting doesn't get trough...
Someone else has to jump in to tell us where the startup-script is moneydance.exe relies on...
in the meantime I'll try to install MD using Wine... – Raimund Buchholz, on April 02, 2009 10:17
A comment on the question "Windows not displaying" in The Infinite Kind:
as you can see, it's a java heap space problem...
you cloud probably modify the startup script and add/change below java settings (make them bigger)
-Xms"initial heap size" -Xmx"maximum heap size"
esp. for the second setting you should try -Xmx256m
how did you install MD, how do you start MD? Are there other java apps loaded concurrently? – Raimund Buchholz, on April 01, 2009 20:11
Raimund Buchholz replied on March 31, 2009 22:51 to the question "Windows not displaying" in The Infinite Kind:
you could start MD from a commandline/shell to see if there are some java exceptions (java -cp xxx.jar, xxy.jar -jar MD.jar)
or try this extension

A comment on the question "Windows not displaying" in The Infinite Kind:
hmm, no idea... maybe to few heap memory (that's a special java setting) or again destop effects (but I don't own Vista to test that)
btw. you may update to MD 631 if you like (it's a stable one) (or even try 635...) – Raimund Buchholz, on March 31, 2009 22:45

one last idea: try printing to cups-pdf (i.e. generate a pdf as workaround);
are you sure MD uses openjdk? - i.e. installed MD without JRE (check via help menu inside MD) – Raimund Buchholz, on March 25, 2009 23:31
A comment on the problem "Print No More - Help!" in The Infinite Kind:
are you sure MD uses openjdk?
If you install MD packed together with java it will use that JVM and not the system default... to check this use the help menu inside MD – Raimund Buchholz, on March 25, 2009 23:23
A comment on the problem "Print No More - Help!" in The Infinite Kind:
Does this mean you checked permissions on the file /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster?
Are you able to print from Evice and other programs, what happens if you use other java apps?
Btw. I don't know if I'm able to help you any farther - you may need asking at ubuntuforums.org or file a bug at launchpad.net... – Raimund Buchholz, on March 25, 2009 23:15

please read the last comment in this bugreport

another one

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so...
I also got the feeling that this error may be connected to the kind of port your printer uses (USB)...
But could probably be a ghostscript problem or a printer driver one... – Raimund Buchholz, on March 25, 2009 17:51
Raimund Buchholz replied on March 25, 2009 10:41 to the problem "Print No More - Help!" in The Infinite Kind:
what do other java apps throw as error messages (e,g. Freemind, OpenProj, GanttProject, ...)
Is there some information in the logs (syslog, messages, cups,...)?
did you follow the hints in the given links?
i.e.
- changing paper orientation away from automatic (via gui or config file)
- creating environment variable for cups to be on localhost (follow above links)
(see also for similar changes: http://cviorel.easyblog.ro/2008/11/13...
and http://www.cups.org/articles.php?L433... )
-reviewing cupsd.conf to find out on what cups is listening to
(old http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_... )
[same as previous point above, you should better not change this setting in cupsd.conf as it is a global one]
( Submitted On 30-NOV-2006
Jennifer Godinez from SUN suggested the following:
<<
Can you try this workaround?
1. Create the softlink
2. In your /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, comment the line with Listen that does
not have localhost, example:
#Listen /var/run/cups/cups.sock
>>)
- modifiying hosts.allow
(see http://forums.opensuse.org/applicatio... )
- making printer default device
- removing special characters from printer name
(see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so... )
- trying other JVM than openjdk
as you can clearly see this is an external error MD and other Java apps cannot work around on theirselves... this longstanding problems occurs on nearly every linux distro and should be resolved in latest Sun Java 1.6 (that build is not avail in hardy) and openjdk (but see other launchpad bugreport)
if your bug is different from the ones described above, I'm sorry to say I can't help you further and you may need searching the internet for that specific bug
