psd reported a problem in Dopplr on August 02, 2009 12:01:
Berkhamsted is no longer spelt BerkhampstedI love Dopplr, but have one irk: my home "city" is listed as "Berkhampsted", but in the real world the town is actually spelt "Berkhamsted".
I believe this is due to an error in the data used for the original import, which I fixed that on the geonames.org Wiki a year or so ago.
Any chance of fixing it?

A comment on the problem "Oath vs passwords" in Poken:
I wrote up some more details of why I feel so strongly about this against a screenshot on Flickr. warning my friends against buying. Six months is a long time to wait for Oauth, or dropping the collection of *our* passwords and until this issue is resolved, I recommend Pokens are best avoided: http://www.flickr.com/photos/psd/3755... – psd, on July 25, 2009 22:50

I've just bought a Poken, after one of my friends recommended it. I now have buyer's regret after encountering this issue — guess I should have looked here first.
Asking for my passwords to all the social networks I'd like to share sounds at best clueless, and at worse a phishing attack. After being caught out by stupid Twitter apps tweeting on my behalf, I don't trust you one iota. Sorry, but I'm very, very unimpressed.-

Yeah, I'm normally very cautious with my twitter password, but these guys had me food, and boy do I now feel stupid for trusting them!
If Twitter implemented OAuth, I could have allowed this app to only read my tweets. Wonder what happened to: http://twitter.com/oauth - it used to be an API-

It's still broken for me, I can only go back to a few months ago:

My faith in Twitter is lost.

Thanks Biz for replying and finally looking into this. I'm not sure what the delay says about Twitter or getsatisfaction.
Whilst I appreciate you guys have been stretched with other issues, in particular stability, the inability to access my old tweets to mine and annotate is incredibly frustrating and has been eroding my trust in Twitter and enthusiasm to advocate people use it. As of now, my archive of old tweets is still broken - pages 12 and beyond empty apart from the latest tweet: http://flickr.com/photos/psd/2829378939/ – psd, on September 05, 2008 07:16

my RSS http://twitter.com/statuses/user_time... doesn't require authentication, works OK from curl so it should work in Reader, FriendFeed etc – psd, on July 22, 2008 23:59

I think the tweets are still there, and you can still see those you happen to have favorited or bookmarked, (such as the ones linked to from here:
http://blog.whatfettle.com/2008/01/05...)
The problem is you just can't find them by paging backwards through your own timeline, or archive them using tools such as Tweetdumpr.
I realise Twitter has had issues with being overloaded, but this action isn't the answer unless they want to alienate passionate, 'twits' like me. http://www.flickr.com/photos/psd/2649...-
