I've now figured out that no matter what, I pretty much have to reboot the Zivio every morning regardless. It's either powered itself off, lost the connection to the phone, or has a degraded audio connection where no one can hear me well (I always fully extend the boom now, just to simplify things). Rather than try to figure out which of those surprises is waiting, I just reboot it every morning. Hopefully, there's some firmware recoding going on now. Anyone know if the firmware is field upgradeable? I know I'm not the only person with this problem (see Apple iPhone complaint on this board).

Yes, I've tried both. Neither fits the ear securely enough to hold the weight of the Zivio without the ear support. I think I had a BB/Plantronics 655 (now 665) which had a fat silicone rubber earpiece in a variety of different sizes - that actually gave it the ability to stay in the ear - I would much rather have something like that on the Zivio than the ear scoop, which cannot support the Zivio's weight (nor can the less sticky mushroom).

Get rid of the ear scoops and make a silicone earpiece that will actually support the weight of the Zivio in your ear, without using the earpiece.I used to have a Plantronics BT headset (died of old age) with different sized silicone earpieces - because of their fat shape, they would support the weight of the headset in the ear, without requiring an over-the-ear support.
Because the Zivio is made partially of metal, it is heavy, so this might not be possible, but I would like to see Zivio try it. Again, having to put the earpiece over your ear makes it too slow to answer a call.
psyentific asked a question in Joby on October 26, 2008 17:53:
Blutooth re-connection issuesSo, there's 4 friggin' buttons on the Zivio if you count the power button - but the most important button function is missing. That function is, \"make an attempt to reconnect to my bluetooth phone\". My cheap one-button headsets do this - if they're not connected and you tap the button, that's the first thing they try to do. Zivio's answer to this is to dig around in your phone menus and reconnect that way, or power off the Zivio and power it back on - both of these methods are SLOW - and lame...
Furthermore, this wouldn't be much of an issue if the Zivio would actually stay connected. My Zivio spends the night charging next to my phone (about 6\" away) and in the morning, half the time it has powered itself off, and the other half it has disconnected from the phone.
So, how about re-writing your software/firmware so that one of the many buttons makes an attempt to reconnect to the phone, eh?

psyentific replied on September 30, 2008 21:37 to the problem "Why is my Zivio so difficult to pair with my iPhone, and only works 2/3 of the time." in Joby:
I have this same problem with my Zivio on a BB 8830. Pairing not so good, and microphone works unpredictably (generally not well - people complain a lot, although I can hear them fine and am not in a noisy area). I will have to get the original order number from my friend, as he ordered us both a Zivio.
