pvh replied on July 22, 2009 01:13 to the question "Ipod Touch Support?" in Songbird:
We still do not support the iPhone or the iPod Touch. Apple has made it very clear that they will do whatever is within their power to prevent other software from interoperating with their hardware. (And vice versa, as the Palm Pre folks found out!) We'll continue to hope that Apple chooses to embrace open standards in the future, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
In the mean time, we've implemented 2-way synchronization between iTunes and Songbird, so that at least Songbird users out there have the option of transferring their Songbird playlists onto their Apple devices.

pvh replied on January 07, 2009 09:27 to the problem "Songbird's Memory Leak" in Songbird:
This sounds like a slow leak during playback. I think MikeS has been working on this during the current release cycle. Could you please try a nightly build and see if that resolves the issue? (It's working fine for me here!)
Also, we have discovered that some of the add-ons out there really accumulate big memory usage over time. Please help us isolate which add-ons cause memory leakage by testing with no add-ons enabled.

@Krights, read the rest of the thread. This is now available, just not in that way. Watch folders, coming in the next version, should help also. – pvh, on December 31, 2008 19:03

pvh replied on December 23, 2008 22:54 to the question "Metadata not read on network drives?" in Songbird:
This appears to be a bug in the TagLib library we use which, during scan, attempts to open the file with read/write permissions and when that fails on a read-only SMB share (and as far as I am aware, only under that circumstance) fails to fall back to opening with just read-only permissions.
Songbird shouldn't be writing anything back without your permission, and furthermore, you can disable all metadata writing everywhere by setting the "songbird.metadata.enableWriting" pref to "false" in about:config.
Hope that helps, and I think we'll probably get to that one with the codename Hendrix release.

pvh set one of pvh's replies as an official response to "Status of EQ" in Songbird
pvh replied on December 19, 2008 09:55 to the question "Status of EQ" in Songbird:
Everybody wants it, nobody's working on it, probably going to be in the release after this one which means roughly April (no promises here, just predictions). Our next release (Hendrix) is already super full of other stuff like watch folders, so there's not much hope for that one which I believe is scheduled for early Feburary.
I'm hoping someone does an EQ add-on before then, but nobody with chops has stepped up. Maybe someone motivated will read this.
