Regrettably we built the MTP support using the built-in Windows libraries. That means that to have support on Linux/OS X, we'd need to rewrite them from the ground up. That's not likely to happen any time soon, sorry.

we did a lot of keyboard shortcuts for 1.0, but not Enter to play. people keep asking for it though. Here's the bug to keep an eye on.

There is absolutely an improvement. I worked with the team on many of those improvements myself. You may still find that the memory usage is greater than you would like, or greater than you can accept. That's fine, it's not my place to tell you what is or is not good enough. We still have lots of room to improve, and we still have problem areas.

But to say that there is "no improvement" is just plain untrue, and for me not to correct that would be a dishonor to the people who spent countless hours working to put in fixes over the last four months.

Having said that, if you are having problems, please, post details about how you are using the application and how much memory it is using so that we can investigate and improve things in the future.

Errr... Yeah, do me a favor and try a new profile with no add-ons installed. I'm not calling you crazy, I just want to absolutely eliminate that as a source of the problem. If it's not the add-ons, then please post me exact steps (again, you're not crazy, I just need to make it happen locally) so that I can follow along from home, since it works for me here just fine.

If you can think of anything about your setup that might be unusual (maybe you use a Wiimote as a mouse? or your computer is made out of jello?) that could be important too.

good suggestion and thanks for the kind words. Your idea has merit, but at the moment we're totally swamped with post-1.0 bug fixes, new development, device support, and all that fun stuff. The best way to make this happen would be through an add-on. Hate to rain on your parade, but at least MY plate is full, and that sounds like a lot of work.

Anyway, keep rocking the bird, and who knows, maybe we'll have time in the future.

Just a suggestion -- it looks like it's not going into Hendrix, but I really don't think it would be a very complicated extension. Me, I hate it when iTunes does this, it's always the first thing I disabled back when I used iTunes.

Still, it really should be quite straightforward to write as long as you don't need to go through all the overhead of in-house development.

@espy: There's supposed to be a summary pane which has this capability. It got bumped from the release because it was causing various layout problems, but maybe I can get some time to finish it for Hendrix... I wouldn't hold my breath, but I want it for myself, too.

Apple has blocked external developers out of the iPhone. Until someone develops an interoperability solution, we're all basically just waiting.

Heyo T-rade, the Concerts add-on gets its data from Songkick.com, so if you want to see more countries and cities supported, you should go suggest it to them.

Unfortunately, Apple has chosen not to provide public mechanisms for accessing the iPhone or iPod Touch, and at this point the open source community has not yet managed to provide interoperability code. We hope this will come in the future.
