Hi, I think you should have an FAQ on the differences between TripIt and Dopplr. I started out using TripIt and
http://twitter.comm/mpeacock
http://travelcommons.com
peaked my curiosity to try Dopplr. It seems likie a simpler interface for sharing basic trip details, but that it does not yet have features to have many trip details like flight#'s, seats, hotel confirmation numbers, etc. except in the notes.
It would be great for instance if you could SMS or send a Twitter message to Dopplr to indicate say you were changing flights.
Like maybe you would SMS
-US2039 +US2041
to show you were taking the 4:00PM flight rather than the 3:00 PM flight. TripIt does not have a good way to update it from SMS or Twitter. This is a case where since Dopplr has a more robust infrastructure for receiving updates, you might even be able to update TripIt. Other good SMS/Twitter things one might want to update would be:
*The room# you get at a hotel;
*Your seat assignment on a plane;
*A flight change as noted;
*If you got upgraded on a flight at a hotel or at a car rental business;
*If you got bumped from your flight. E.g. you might want to count the number of times in a year you were able to get upgraded or bumped.
*If your flight was delayed or cancelled, again you may want to count the number of times this happens in any given time period;
etc. All of these things I'd see Dopplr getting by SMS or Twitter and possibly updating TripIt.
Thanks.-

Mika Pyyhkala asked a question in Dopplr on February 20, 2009 06:07:
Travel confirmation emails are not importing in to Doppler?I have sent a US Airways travel confirmation and a Holiday Inn reservation to trips@dopplr.com but I do not see these details in my trips. I also re-sent the email confirmations after manaully creating the trip in Dopplr.

Hi,
When I bring up this page (which should be page 3 of my posts)
http://search.twitter.com/search?max_...
I get no results found. Are you actually able to display it with the posts?
Thanks.

Hi, Even if I just use
from:pyyhkala
without any other key words, etc. I only get the most recent 20 posts. It is as if
http://search.twitter.com
is pulling from the RSS feed which seems to only keep 20 posts as opposed to the full archive?

How To Search Posts I've Made On Twitter For Specific Key Words?How To Search All My Posts Or Tweets For Specific Key Words, search.twitter.com Not Working
I will often post things to Twitter that I might need to refer too later. I need a quick way to search all my posts. For example, my username is pyyhkala and I am 99% sure I posted a link that can be used to directly install Verizon DSL without the CD. I used various queries on search.twitter.com but could not find a post with DSL and a link in it that I made.-

Mika Pyyhkala replied on September 24, 2008 17:35 to the question "Web Accessibility" in PBwiki:
Hi,
I tried to use the
Contact The Wiki Owner
and appear to get the visual only captcha. There is a same page link if you cannot read the captcha text, but it does not seem to bring up an audio captcha.
As I posted in another thread, I also cannot figure out how to add a heading level 2 to a wiki using the Jaws screen reader:
http://hj.com/jaws
It appears this can be done either in a WYSIWYG editor or by adjusting the HTML source, but neither of these methods worked.
The wiki I am trying to edit is:
http://twitterpacks.pbwiki.com
and it looks to me like you need to create a heading level 2 in order to add a Twitter Pack to this wiki?
These issues should be resolved more quickly as they pose a critical priority 1 issue in terms of accessibility for content creaters.-

Mika Pyyhkala replied on September 24, 2008 15:21 to the question "Do you have any blind users at PBwiki? And are your wikis compatible with screen readers?" in PBwiki:
Hi,
I tried to use PBwiki for the first time with the Jaws For Windows screen reader today to add a heading level 2 to the wiki:
http://twitterpacks.pbwiki.com
I tried this both with the WYSIWYG editor as well as trying to do it manually with the HTML source, but in both cases I was unable to accomplish the goal I had saught out to complete. Essentially I am trying to add a new
Twitter Pack
to this wiki.
I will check out the article you referenced in the earlier answer about accessibility, and report if I am able to complete this task.
The Jaws For Windows screen reader can be found at:
http://hj.com/jaws
but I think the same issues would be found also with other screen readers. I have also submitted a report to Freedom Scientific about this who publishes the Jaws screen reader.

I too never got an answer to an email sent to web services, and the general merchandise phone customer service was not able to help. I was trying to get a $.02 charge reversed and billed to a current credit card, as it was billed to a card I no longer used and resulted in me getting charged $30 or so by Bank of America.-
