Rachel M. Murray replied on November 19, 2007 04:46 to the idea "Are there plans for a Get Satisfaction Facebook app?" in Get Satisfaction:
Speaking of Pages in Facebook, I did the shameless thing and created one for y'all. It's here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?i... and it's all so meta... creating a fan page on a site that's doing something vaguely similar to a fan site about consumer activism... or something like that.
Anyway, if you guys or gals want to take over ownership of the Facebook page, just let me know. :) It's funny how some Web sites make you feel that you can make a difference; I'm certainly under no illusions (I'm pretty cynical, especially about customer service) but having your page reminds me of that great Margaret Mead quote: "Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has."
So thanks :)

Have the same thing happening on mine - if you check the Pownce space on Get Satisfaction (and their blog, I think) they say it's definitely an AIR issue rather than a Pownce issue. Perhaps it'll get worked out - AIR is still so new so there's bound to be some kinks.
Nice to see a fellow Pownce and Skitch user :) Good software choices. I can't figure out why Pownce hasn't taken off as strongly as Twitter. Go figure.

Hey Amy,
Well, I was able to get my data off - and because of AppleCare I was able to get the logic board replaced. It's just frustrating because of a) the existing legal situation (i.e. Apple not really addressing the issues brought up in the links I mentioned) and b) because a few months later I'm still having performance issues.
Thanks for the tip, Brendon...yes, am definitely looking into backing up options. Having this issue taken care of (the backing up issue) in the next OS is something I'm looking forward to a great deal. I've pretty much given up on the other one (the faulty logic board).
Ah well - what can you do. Not much...
Rachel M. Murray replied on October 14, 2007 22:41 to the idea "So, instead of just "companies" as distinct types in Satisfaction..." in Get Satisfaction:
I like the idea, but have some concerns that this starts opening up a can of worms. One of my previously favourite sites, Yelp, started letting the users go a little nuts - people started to give reviews to everything under the sun (apparently 'Lance Armstrong' is some sort of business people frequent? Then again, maybe he is...) Discussion of that aside, I still use Yelp for reviews, but the idea of it being a resource for actual, real world business reviews started to become diluted in a way. These sites don't have to be a taxonomy of All Things On the Planet - we have other other classification systems for that :)
Anyway, this could work as long as it's kept to things like companies, organizations, clubs or projects - things have have answerable chains of command, ideally real world businesses with customer service departments. As soon as people start creating reviews for people - well, just letting you know this might happen, so be prepared for the Lance reviews :)

Why no Mac OS installer for Zagat to Go for Palm?Dear Zagat,
Thanks for the free Zagat to Go membership that came with the Treo 680 I got a while back. Found this whilst looking through Palm materials; excitedly put the CD in and found an .EXE, Windoze only file. I went to the web site and saw this (see screen capture) as well. I had to stop at step 3 because I don't use a PC every waking hour of my life.
I know MacOS users are only 3% of the Operating System market as of Sept. 2007, but this is ridiculous. Now you just look like a stupid out of touch company because you don't have an installer. Too bad - yet another example of an out of touch customer. You might be an excellent resource, but on the tech side a little out of it.

I *want* to love you, but you crash my Visio everytime I use it... and it's bad enough I have to use Visio...I'm all for streamlining the IA process, and I know your heart is in the right place, but I get strange little Javascript errors and windows popping up... I want to use you - if I have to use Visio - but you don't make it easy, do you?

Might be good if you started a wiki - best version I've seen used to be at Upcoming before they got bought out by Yahoo (screen capture here:

Just showing my appreciation for the site. At first I was a little skeptical - overAJAXy sites do that to me - but now I'm a convert. You're taking off where Lovemarks ended, and perhaps it might make a difference. I posted my little rant about a problem, and I feel better already, even if the company will probably ignore me. It's nice to think *someone* was listening.

I love you, but you just broke my heart because my iBook is toast.Loyal customer since 1989. Extolled both the virtues of the company as well as the products themselves. Partly became a designer out of the joy the products give me.
Now desperate because my computer is DEAD because of a faulty logic board, and I probably won't be able to get my files off of it. I'm on my way to the Genius bar, but am not hopeful.

I don't expect to get a refund for the problem, although that's the least you can do (or pay for a soldiering job - especially since I am a soldier in the Evangelical Apple Movement, too). I'm just frustrated because it's a problem that can be solved, and also because yet another corporation has screwed a customer over. What's sadder still is that I still love the company like a sad puppy, and will probably buy a Macbook after this. It's just the state of Corporate Relations, 2007 I guess.-
