Ok its been over a week. I would say that "several days" have come and gone. Are we any closer to a solution? – Radfahrer, on January 30, 2009 18:22

Thanks for your timely response. I wish I had come strait to GS in the first place. Mint support works soo much better here. – Radfahrer, on January 22, 2009 18:52

Update: It's now the 22nd, so 11 days after my original submission of this issue through the "contact us" form on Mint.com. I have now received a second more specific canned response. Telling me in essence, that its my fault, and that I must have mistakenly add the account twice, or changed the account through Wells Fargo sufficiently for it to appear as a new account to mint.
I did neither. I had been logging into mint more often than WF and only using WF's site If I had to pay a bill or something like that. And as for adding it to mint twice, I think I would have noticed that.
In either case why can't mint compare the account numbers and see that its the same account?
This second response was no more useful than the first and it was offensive on top of being unhelpful. So far customer support is not winning Mint a loyal user from its iterations with me.

Drop vBulletin in favor of GSI didn't even know that Mint had Get Satisfaction page. I'm a big fan of GS and I'm proposing that Mint should use GS to replace forum.mint.com. My reasoning is twofold, GS is a superior solution over vBulletin and phasing out the forum would reduce redundancy.
The user experience with GS is much better that vBulletin. GS is made for customer service, while vBulliten is made for general communication. With GS uses can not only report their issue they can let Mint know how they are feeling about the situation. Posts get filtered by type. Email notifications work. The list goes on and on.
If mint started directing users to their Get Satisfaction page and then told users of the forum to move over here, mint employees could save a lot of time checking redundant posts. Plus get satisfaction lets mint employees respond to twitter messages. So Get Satisfaction could kill three birds with one stone for mint. It would also be great for users like my self to have one place to come to check the latest that the mint user community has to offer.
If you also think that getting rid of the old vBulletin forum in favor of GS is a good idea add your voice to mine so that Mint knows how many of its users prefer a customer service oriented system to some generic forum.

Still no ETA on a fix, is this a week out, a month out, a year out? I assumed that you weren't completely ignoring the dozens of users reporting this issue on the forums. Do you know what's causing the issue? Did WF change the way they report data to you? It seems like it likely happened near new years, is there a date based issue? – Radfahrer, on January 20, 2009 18:17
Radfahrer reported a problem in Mint.com on January 20, 2009 17:50:
Wells Fargo Duplicate CC AccountsSince early January I've been seeing a duplicate of my Wells Fargo credit card account. It started off as an exact duplicate but it has since stopped updating.
I've submitted a support request through the mint site on the 9th, and haven't heard back (its now the 20th) I did receive a very generic "thanks for reporting a bug" email. However that doesn't address my problem at all. I want to know that someone is working on it, and when approximately I can expect it to be fixed.
I've tried posting to the forums, but I haven't heard anything their either. Maybe some one will respond to get satisfaction. The lack of a response is what is really putting me off mint. Before this issue I had been recommending Mint to friends and family. Now I would discourage people from signing up.

It never worked for me and I tried the process several times. I ended up buying a replacement battery from Amazon.com for $40, which is still better that the $70 iRobot charges. Perhaps my battery was too far gone. However I don't believe this technique can work unless the roomba has some internal memory that can be reset by holding down the power button...
Radfahrer replied on September 21, 2008 22:17 to the question "Why don't Klean Kanteens come in 1 liter/32 oz. sizes?" in Klean Kanteen:
Which system do you want to standardize in? Metric or US? Also why do a few ounces/ centiliters matter. Get a 40oz and then don't fill it all the way. Either way it will hold 1.2 liters or 32 ounces. I suppose this could be problematic if the Quicky Mart wants to be a stickler and charge you extra for filling your 40 with slushy and you don't want to get riped off by using your 27.

Why don't Klean Kanteens come in 1 liter/32 oz. sizes? Why the HELL don't Klean Kanteen water bottles come in standard 1 liter/32 oz. sizes? WHY? Why do I have to choose between 27 oz and 40 oz?

Radfahrer asked a question in Tesla Motors on September 18, 2008 01:18:
Ultracapacitors instead of bateries.Have you researched using ultracapacitors as energy storage devices, for future tesla models? If so what were your findings? How about for boosting the efficiency of the roadsters regenerative breaking? Does the breaking system already make use of ultracapactiors?

Best Vacuum EverI've had my DC07 for over a year and a half now and its still the best vacuum I've ever used. When I first got it I thought "man this is a really great vacuum but it won't work this well 3 months downs the road." Well it seems to have passed the three month mark more than a year ago and I haven't even notice. It works just as well as it did the day I got it.
The only bit of maintenance I've had to do is clean the filter 3 times. Once every six months. I love this product and want to give Dyson a pat on the back for creating a really solid product. Who would have thought that a vacuum would be an innovative product to get excited about?

Just an update, I got some help from someone who has build a Shopzilla feed before. It turns out that the correct format is nigher of the formats I was aware of its a combination of the format provided in the instructions and column headers from another part of the instructions document. I don't even want to try to explain how these feeds are supposed to work.

Craigs List SpammersThis company uses shady marketing practices. They post fake personals on Craig's LIst soliciting people to "view my profile here" this practice is clearly against CL's terms of use and ruins the experience for people genuinely trying to meet someone through a personal ad.
Radfahrer reported a problem in Shopzilla on March 26, 2008 02:39:
Confused Feed Instructions. As a merchant Shopzilla's product feeds are confusing at best. Heres what their instructions say:
"The file should contain a header row to indicate the order and content of the fields. There must be 15 columns in the feed, and the columns MUST be in the following order:"
So why is there a header row if the order must be as specified? No matter I'll just open the sample file and make my feed based on that, wait a minute the sample file doesn't follow the order specified in the instructions. So which one is it? I'll try one and see if it works, and I'll post my results.
