Some people can only view or prefer to view their email in plain text so forwarding an email in HTML will be converted to plain text on their end. That might be the issue?
Make sure you're also writing in HTML and also sending both in plain text and HTML when sending mail and forwarding the message inline versus inline versus as an attachment. Those settings can be found in the preferences/option section of Thunderbird under Composition.

Hi Jennifer,
Who's your email service?
Thunderbird lets you view and interact with your email but doesn't provide your email service, e.g. @hotmail.com or @yourisp.com. Your ISP or one of the free email account services are the ones you'll need to ask.
So to view your email at work, you'll need to either setup Thunderbird at work or view your email via a web browser.
With a Blackberry, you'll need to set up your email there as well and out of town, most likely through a web browser.
I hope that makes sense.
Rafael Ebron replied on September 15, 2009 21:06 to the question "Sort by Group WAS:Tags Yesterday OldMail in Inbox" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi mcorrege:
I think you hit the 'g' key which gives you the grouping function. If you select the sender column, you'll see your email grouped by person. You may have selected the date column and now you see your email grouped.
You can get out of this by selecting the date column and pressing 'g' or by selecting the column again to re-sort the column out of the group.
Rafael Ebron replied on September 09, 2009 21:17 to the problem "Missing formatting toolbar" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi Martha,
Somehow the setting or preference for composing emails has been set to 'plaintext' which would remove the formatting toolbar.
You can go to menu item Tools > Account Settings and go to your email account. Under 'Composition and Addressing' make sure the check box that says 'Compose messages in HTML format' is checked.
That should bring the format toolbar back.

Rafael Ebron replied on September 09, 2009 20:45 to the question "Thunderbird advertising policy" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi Linda,
We make money in several different ways, however, advertising is not one of them.
Thunderbird is a free product and is also free of advertising. You should not be getting any pop-up ads in Thunderbird at all.
Any emails that have advertising in them do not come from us. In fact, we enable you to block images from emails to give you control over the email adverts that are sent to you.
Hope that helps.
Rafael Ebron replied on September 04, 2009 21:05 to the problem "Photo problems, Receiving and/or Forwarding them" in Mozilla Messaging:
I'm wondering if the photos that you're sending or receiving are too large as far as file size? There maybe some restrictions by your email provider on the file sizes that are sent and received.
Do you notice if all images have a problem being sent/received or just very large ones?
A way to work around this is to upload the photos to a photo sharing site or to a file sharing site, e.g. dropbox.

Rafael Ebron replied on September 04, 2009 19:58 to the problem "Setting up Hotmail on Thunderbird on Mac" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi Chris,
1) Got to Tools -> Account Settings
2) Add Account -> Email account
3) Go through the wizard and select pop and enter the server information below
4) Go back to the settings and see if these are correct
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995) will probably need to change to port 995 manually
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
Security connection should be TLS/SSL
however the 'use secure authentication box' should be unchecked

Hi Tom,
The password failure issue can be a couple things: a) is it the right username and password combination? b) a configuration issue with your email service, in other words do you have Thunderbird with the right email settings from your email service.
The window asking you to run or cancel maybe Antivirus software that you may need add Thunderbird to on the software list to allow it to run. I'm not sure what Antivirus software you have so I'm guessing on that one.
