Mark, did you try the steps outlined earlier in this thread to do a service update for FB? Also, see my earlier post regarding "about:webdetective" to confirm you have the current file. – Randy, on April 01, 2009 22:52

Mark, try this:
1. Log out of Facebook.
2. Open the Accounts & Services sidebar (shift-cmd-A on mac)
3. Click "Forget Account" under your FB account.
4. Log in to FB.
Let me know what happens. – Randy, on April 01, 2009 22:15

Glad it's working now. Please keep us updated if it stops working for you again. I don't want to even think this (!) but it's possible that Facebook is rolling out more changes and you're one of the lucky users who is experiencing them first... :) – Randy, on January 22, 2009 21:22

So you're still seeing the problem after doing the manual update as Evan suggested and restarting Flock?
Try this: open a new tab in Flock and enter about:webdetective in the URL bar. You should get a list of services with information (version, timestamp) about each service's support file. The entry for Facebook should look something like this:
facebook: $Id: facebook.xml 21595 2009-01-22 05:18:27Z chris $
If you do not have version 21595, then the update hasn't taken effect. You should try Evan's steps again, restart Flock, and check about:webdetective again.
If your Facebook service is up-to-date then there is something else going on. – Randy, on January 22, 2009 19:51

Could you be more specific about what is not working? If you're having trouble with Facebook, please take a look at this thread. You can click the Follow tab near the top right side of the page to get an email when that thread is updated.

Hi folks... Sorry for the frustration. Facebook made some changes today that broke Flock's ability to detect account IDs. These changes are slowly propagating across their servers and didn't come to our attention until this afternoon. We have a fix that is going through testing right now and will hopefully get pushed out to users as a service update tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest.

Good catch!
If you are comfortable with editing settings in the about:config editor, then search for the google.toolbar.mailto.opt setting and toggle it to false.
Alternatively, this setting can be turned off in the Toolbar:
1. Click the Settings drop-down on the Google Toolbar and select the Options... item.
2. Click the More tab in the resulting window.
3. Under the Page Tools heading, uncheck the Send with Gmail item.
Please let me know if Flock's sharing capabilities are restored once this Toolbar functionality has been disabled.

Hi Modriguez,
Sorry you're experiencing these issues. Hopefully we can figure out what's going on.
When you say none of these options are working, what exactly happens? Does Flock provide any feedback or are they dead? Could you please try the following:
1. Open the Flock Error Console (it's available under the Tools menu).
2. Click the Clear button.
3. Try the various nonfunctional options again.
4. Report back any messages that show up.
Next, please click the Webmail icon and choose Webmail Settings... from the flyout menu. Look for the When sending email in Flock option... Are you set up to use your primary Webmail account or an external mail program?
Thanks,
RP
