TO TAG OR NOT TO TAG ... that is the questionEvery time I create a group I add tags to the group but those tags never show once I save the group and then go to that group
Ray asked a question in SocialGO on September 05, 2009 13:56:
I WANT A LIBRARY!I would like to be able to create a group and ADD FILES to that group such as PDF files - I would like to do this to create a repository of books that my network members can download.

Why do you need to consider it?? Clearly people are asking for it? – Ray, on September 05, 2009 13:07

I knew I wasnt the only one - SG is GREAT Idea but it seems that they (as usual) released it Waaaay to early because they need money!
Now, its fine to take money off us and I dont mind paying for it but I expect an SLA for the price and I expect to be able to do all the things I want to do - I use Microsoft Office and OpenOffice and I have never had to ...
A) Pay for the cost of the development
B) Be an unwilling Guinea Pig for untested features / hardware
I do want to stay with SG as I have got my network looking how I want it (www.freedomrebels.co.uk) but there needs to be a recognition from them that we, as paying customers, have valid demands that need to be met in as little time as possible.
For my organisation I have taken on the cost of this personally but I am not the most patient person on the planet and SG dont rock up with some of these "standard" features fast then It will be "Sayonara" from me along with my dollars.
Thanks for your response.

As an addendum to that - how about if we said that SG should be FREE for all features UNTIL SG is 100% Completed and done! Then the playing field would be level - right now we are expected to ay for something thats not even 50% completed! – Ray, on September 05, 2009 12:26

Yet again ... sometime whenever ... never - when are SG actually going to commit to a date / timescale on anything??? – Ray, on September 05, 2009 12:25-

I am noticing that a lot of the stuff we are asking for form SocialGo is met with a "we will be releasing that later" kinda response.
However as yet, there has been no published roadmap so that we (As paying customers) can get a feel for when things are going to happen.
A lot of things are missing from SG and these things are in just about every other Social Network that I have been involved in - SG is now earning money from us all so maybe its time to ramp up the numbers of developers and deliver this stuff a lot quicker otherwise myself and I suspect many others will tire of SG and go look elsewhere.
I don't mind paying for stuff but when its a choice of getting something for free (FB, Myspace, Bebo etc) or paying and NOT getting what I need then I will take the free option every time.
This is a very serious issue and will make or break SG - the "release it before its completed" model has failed time and time again on the internet and I am now wondering if SG are going to go the same way.
Time will tell - but if they dont pull their finger out and start delivering FAST then it wont be long before we are all mourners at the funeral of SG.

Adding friends is painful process in SG, as the site owner I would like a default "add me to anyone who joins" function - I also think this is a good idea for members. I never deleted "Tom" in myspace and I thought it was kinda neat that he added himself to me when I was a "noobie" (all that time ago).
Currently I have nearly 11,000 twitter followers and 3,000 facebook followers and I am actively engaging them to come to my SG network.
I agree with Thunder X - this should be OUR decision as to whether we auto add friends or not and the sooner SG get it in the easier my life will be in SG.
ADDITONALLY ... for members
It must be a real P.I.A to have to add friends individually, cant you add a feature whereby you can work through the list of members and tick the ones you want to befriend then say "add as friend" - at the moment its time consuming and REALLY stunts the growth of your friend network in SG.
So - how about it fellas!-
