Ray Smith's dashboard

I have a hybrid network based on Samba. I can access my files from all my machines individually but I can not add the network directory from the import media option in SB. If use the open location option it shows all my media file. How can I add this folder to the library? I do not want to physically copy the files just access them from my laptop which is running Ubuntu. The server also runs Ubuntu and the files are on an NTFS drive. I can play individual files with vlc, rythmbox and xbmc, but SB has the functionality that I need.
