Ryan D Johnson replied on March 09, 2009 06:00 to the question "Is it possible to get WiFi connection diagnostics for Infinite SMS in order to diagnose possible connection problems when attempting to send/recieve texts to/from friends?" in innerfence:
Hi, Null.
I've added some stuff to 1.5 that will detect if you're signed in elsewhere and let you know about it.
I'm also planning to add a button to the Password Error that will take you directly to Google's account unlock page.
Those are the two most common problems, but they don't actually have anything to do with Wi-Fi, really.
The two biggest issues with Wi-Fi are (1) you're on a network with a firewall that blocks Google Talk or (2) you're on a network that requires you to authenticate or accept a terms of service in your web browser and you haven't yet. There's no real way to detect the difference.

A comment on the idea "email notification" in innerfence:
Not in a straightforward way. If you log into gmail web interface when you have offline message you haven't yet read, they show up in your inbox. But they don't show up in your inbox other ways (like POP or IMAP). And if you get the offline messages through Infinite SMS, they don't show up in your inbox, only in your full chat logs. In fact, if you log into gmail and have them show up in your inbox, that's where they've been "delivered", and they won't show up in Infinite SMS. – Ryan D Johnson, on March 09, 2009 03:37

We'd love to, but it's Google who needs to fix it. It's on our list, and we hope Google will fix it soon (they've already fixed a couple of the other carriers on our list).

Google only supports sending normal SMS text messages, not MMS picture messages.
There are some other apps that support MMS in the app store.

Hi, JJ.
You can do it today, but the steps are complicated:

There are a lot of variables involved in a release, so there's no way to give a definite date. I think the feature will be in 1.5. (1.4 is awaiting approval by Apple right now).
A comment on the idea "Concept for New Icon" in innerfence:
Thankfully, if you've jailbroken your phone (which we don't recommend), my understanding is that you can just replace our Icon.png with anything you like.
Also, just so you know, traditional app developers will be more comfortable with your jailbroken screenshots if they do not include the Cydia installer. You may not realize it, but many jailbreak users configure unofficial Cydia repos to install pirated versions our software. – Ryan D Johnson, on March 07, 2009 16:42
Ryan D Johnson replied on March 07, 2009 16:36 to the idea "email notification" in innerfence:
Hi, Elliott.
The other guys who are doing this you're going through their server, so they have access to your password and your chat traffic. This is less problematic in the case of one company who actually runs the chat network, but the other companies that do this are probably violating the terms of service of those networks by proxying all your traffic.
If we did convince ourselves to take that route, it would be very expensive and we'd have to charge a lot more for the app since we'd have to have considerable server infrastructure to handle the number of customers we have.
Many frustrated device owners have turned to jailbreaking, where apps like backgrounder and insomnia provide the functionality we want that Apple doesn't allow as of yet. We counsel patience over jailbreaking, though, since it has a lot of hazards, technical and legal.
We hope that Apple allows background notifications or Google implements the kind of email notification you're talking about soonish.

Hi, Jeremiah.
The update is probably just a coincidence. You probably just need to unlock your Google account:
