After grabbing the tar.gz off of http://getsongbird.com/ I would use the directions from http://luisgmarine.blogspot.com/2008/... to help unpack and integrate songbird into your OS and its menus, etc.

Yeah, I've been hoping for this for a long time as well. Actually, there was a guy over at portableapps who was attempting to do it with either version 0.3 or 0.4 or SB, however he stopped working on it and supposedly another guy took over for him, but nothing has come out of that yet at least.

Does it work with 0.6? Personally, since 0.7pre is just a release candidate it is bound at least some issues remaining. File a bug report over at bugzilla so that the devs know about it and then try out 0.6.

I think there was a feature suggestion/bug for this as I seem to remember commenting on it, but after spending the last 20 minutes looking for it, I cannot for the life of me find it. Can somebody help me find it, or if it doesn't exist a new one can be opened. I just don't want to add to the list of redundant feature suggestions out there.

Oo, great suggestions there songbird1. I would love to see this in a future release....it would put SB head and shoulders above iTunes in that area.

Well uTorrent is a very simple, ligthweight torrent app, and yet it is one of the more popular ones out there. Torrent clients do not need to be as feature rich as Azureus to be incredibly powerful and useful and because of that I vote to integrate and upgrade the code for the existing open source torrent clients that already exit out there. But yes - due to legality I would only expect this as an addon.

This is one of the features that most other media players have, that songbird unfortunately does not have yet. I am not sure why that is not the case, but go ahead and comment on the feature request for it so that we can hopefully convince the devs to add this incredibly important feature.
