reelstuff asked a question in Twitter on July 17, 2008 23:52:
Time limits between posts, for applications that use the APICreating a desktop application with built in time limits, will prevent users from abusing the service.
I am in the process of creating an application for MAC OSX, Windows, Linux,
Once I have a working URL to update the status with a message, I can add in a timer that will not allow the user to post over and over again, sounds like a good thing, huh, refer to my unanswered post for more information. thanks
reelstuff marked one of meangrape's replies in Twitter as useful. meangrape replied to the question "How can I implement a Twitter source parameter using XMLHttpRequest?". reelstuff and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

In order to get it right my dear, but I definitely understand where your coming from I think they are overburdened and understaffed, they dont even have a complete API, yet, I dont think anyone expected the growth that this thing has had, hopefully they will start making some progress. just think about it, they dont even reply here most of the time, so that is another strike,
it is frustrating, I know its popular, so that is why I am here, but I cant get an answer to a simple question, which is not covered in their API, most of the API is referenced by third party websites, (who does that anyway, here if you have a question go ask mr wiki.) stupid, if you ask me,

basic authentication header, URLBase64 encode, need to form correct syntax for update to twitter, URL
basic authentication requires, the username:password which when encoded, is dXNlcm5hbWU6cGFzc3dvcmQ= Now I need to know how to correctly form the URL to authenticate, an update with message, so according to the API, what is the next logical step in forming a correct URL to update with message.
